Grundig saved from the tip...

Restored 1970's Grundig Radiogram Stereogram.
Upgraded with Bluetooth amp/receiver and upgraded Aiwa turntable with pre-amp.
New Fenton speakers and tweeters.
Amber LEDs, with door switch, and original lamps in Radio selection panel.
Kept as original as possible, although has minor marks and damage after nearly 50yrs.
Unfortunately the top was so badly damaged, it had to be painted in matt black.
All the original electronics have been disconnected for safety reasons.
Plays really well, excellent sound quality, but has distortion at very high volume on the turntable, due to excessive vibration, as the output is so high. But still plays at excellent quality at high volume.
Bluetooth doesn't suffer with any distortion.
Excellent example of mid century/retro furniture, and has all the advantages of modern Bluetooth.

1970's Ferguson radiogram completed.
Upgraded with new deck and Bluetooth enabled. Fully restored and on sale on Instagram (urban_upcycler).
Commissioned to make a retirement gift, for a Triumph motorbike enthusiast.
I was sent an old carburettor and a reproduction tank badge..🤔
So, using some oak from an old dining table, I came up with this.
Made with a union jack motif in black and gold, resin glass coated top, with a E27 filament bulb and holder, and the tank badge hand painted in black and gold guilding wax.
The carburettor was highly polished, and lacquered twice.

This is the 5th Radiogram restoration this year, and a great way to see out 2020.
A learning curve all the way, and all the mistakes and hard work have paid off.
This is a Ferguson, early 1970's unit, which is now capable of playing vinyl on a new deck, raised on a 6mm glass plinth, and Bluetooth connectivity if you can't be bothered to get off the sofa.
The whole unit is original, with all the original components restored and in tact, on display under a 6mm plate glass lid, and lit with striking blue diodes and LEDs.
The original needle has been replaced with a blue diode, neatly resting on a 300mm mirrored disc, highlighting the original deck player.
