Okay so update time 👀

I will no longer be updating my Etsy store for the time being. No restocking expired items or adding new stuff. I think I’m gonna tailor it down to my most basic items so you can still shop keyrings, bag charms & clouds(till I run out of merino).

My full range is on my noths storefront as it doesn’t require any fees to list but yeah

Madebybusby moving forward will most likely me using my creative energy on what makes me happy & healthy. Right now that’s making myself the odd thing & learning new stuff without perfectionism.

Slightly sad update but after 6 months off I’m still not any better & the burnout seems to be lingering. It’s such a shame as I put so much into my brand & I’m super proud of it! 🥲

Cheers for shopping with me, sticking around & well being a supportive corner of the internet. I’ll still be using my page to share my makes but it’ll be less of a storefront & more here’s my art 👏🏻

All about me… so I’m the busby behind the made by; shelley.

I’m nearing 30 & a mum to two little boys. I’ve got a Boston terrier who keeps me busy & I love to just embrace things I enjoy.

I am a proper crafty person hence this biz & if you can’t tell I love bold colours. I just enjoy learning new things & putting my stamp on it.

I’m a little all over the place so I don’t tend to stick to one medium but I started this biz as a way to express my creativity so who needs to be boxed in??!

Right now I’m loving knitting & making my own clothes but I’ve been eyeing up felting so who knows you may see some of that sometime soon 👀

So here’s my brand story which let’s just say is pretty simple. Made by Busby is the name cause well it’s made by a Busby… me 👀

Honestly when it came to picking a name for this new adventure I was stumped & it really is much harder than it needs to be. Using my surname was in my opinion the best option & well I think it has a ring to it. Also it helps me be able to express my creativity without being boxed into a particular craft.

As for my branding I really wanted to get it right so I hired the lovely & she rejigged my original doodled logo by & crafted me the perfect brand 👏🏻

I love all the colours & I found a funky font I like to use online. Just loves how it encompasses the fun side of my biz.

That’s the story behind my branding & tomorrow I’ll share more about why I even started this side gig!

🚨Update time… so I keep saying I’m taking a break & well now it’s happening.

I’ve restocked all my items on Etsy but once they expire I won’t be restocking till I’m ready to come back full time.

I’m experiencing a bad patch of burnout & well I’m not feeling very creative so I’m giving myself grace. I’m excited for when inspiration strikes & I can find brain power to get making again.

Definitely more going with the flow & embracing the slow craft. Less worrying about churning out content & more making the things that spark joy!

Who knows what will happen to MBB this year but I know I’m taking a step back to sort myself out & I will keep creating while it makes me happy.

I have a couple of goals this year; learn about yarns/fabrics, reduce my yarn stash & experiment!

Hiya lovelies just stopping by in our knitted snoods to say I’m finishing up final orders of the year today!

Monday will be my final post office trip of 22 & any orders from here on out will be sent in the new year 👏🏻

It’s not been the busiest year for MBB but it has been wonderful! Made some beaut new products, spoke to the loveliest people, seen new & familiar faces pop up in my order book, collaborated with & found a few new fibre hobbies!

🚨Time for an announcement…

Right lovelies a different kind of post from me but as of the new year I’ll be taking a step from made by busby. Feels utterly weird to say that but it’s much needed.

Right now I need to spend my time elsewhere; getting back into the workplace, sorting my home out & well getting myself back on track.

Life’s been tougher than I’d like to admit for quite some time now. It’s best for me to focus my energy where it’s needed!

I won’t be totally gone! I’ll keep sharing my knits & hope Instagram doesn’t wipe me completely out 👀😬
