We are kicking off 2024 with a new campaign for cleaner greener streets across Swansea!!
CAMPAIGN GOALS
Increase Urban Greenery: Install 'Grow Your Own' planters in concrete front gardens across Swansea to enhance urban biodiversity and aesthetics.
Water Conservation: Implement water butts in residential and communal areas to promote rainwater harvesting and reduce water usage.
Sustainable Waste Storage: Establish green roof bin stores for black and green bag storage to minimise heat islands and integrate green spaces in practical applications.
Community Engagement: Engage local residents, schools, and businesses through workshops and activities to foster a community-driven approach to urban greening.
Education on Sustainability: Provide educational programs on permaculture, recycling, and sustainable living practices to residents and local institutions.
Enhance Local Biodiversity: Promote the planting of native species that support local wildlife, including pollinators and birds, within the new green spaces.
Improve Air Quality: Utilise planters and green roofs to help filter pollutants and improve air quality in urban areas.
Reduce Urban Heat: Expand green-covered areas to help lower surface and air temperatures in densely populated areas.
Community Wellbeing: Enhance the aesthetic and recreational value of our communities, contributing to improved mental health and quality of life for residents.
Long-Term Sustainability: Develop partnerships with local government and businesses to ensure the project's sustainability and continuation based on community feedback and evolving needs.
