Builders knocked a brick out of a cavity wall to feed a water supply through and neglected to seal it up leaving a client exposed to rats in her kitchen.

We have had several calls so far this year for rats that have nested in vehicles and chewed through wiring and made nests in the seat foam.

I was called to a rat job in Swansea today that was proving to be difficult for the customers to get under control.
The issue was they couldn't find how they were getting in which meant it was an ongoing issue.
A thorough survey of the property revealed the entry point to be where rats had burrowed under a paving slab and had them gone into the footings/cavity wall and had then climbed up the cavity wall and nested in the loft insulation.
The entry point would never have been found under the paving slab without a trained eye and could of gone on for years.

Rodent issues in terraced houses are always difficult to eradicate totally unless the whole street identifies and seals entry points.
Once in the building fabric they make their way into the loft to nest and then spread throughout the whole terrace.
Rats need a gap the diameter of your thumb and mice require a gap of a pencil width and with most terraced houses having large gaps in the loft wall that separates them permanent control is virtually impossible unless the whole terrace take action to proof their properties.
