Tristan Gjertsen for Llansamlet
Offical page for Tristan Gjertsen, Plaid Cymru member in Llansamlet.
Fantastic news for children and parents alike in Wales
I am delighted to be able to share this positive news with you today. It was a key policy for Plaid in the 2021 election and a huge step forward in our efforts to tackle poverty in Wales. Free school meals will make a real difference to thousands of children and families across Wales. 🏴
Rwy'n hynod o falch o allu rhannu'r newyddion positif yma gyda chi heddiw. Roedd yn bolisi allweddol i'r Blaid yn etholiad 2021 a cham enfawr ymlaen yn ein hymdrechion i fynd i'r afael â thlodi yng Nghymru. Bydd prydiau ysgol am ddim yn gwneud gwahaniaeth gwirioneddol i filoedd o blant a theuluoedd ar draws Cymru. 🏴
Today is and Plaid Cymru are reaffirming our commitment to strive for a Wales free from homophobia, biphobia and transphobia. 🏴
Together, we'll build a Wales free from hatred and prejudice. More unites us than divides us. 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️
Unfortunately not the result we had hoped for, but one that I am proud of.
Thank you to everyone who who came out and helped me on the campaign trail, no matter the weather. Thank you to those in Plaid Cymru who gave me the chance to run and make a difference to a community I have grown up in. Thank you to those who spent the time to talk to me and reach out via email to show your support. And thank you to everyone in Llansamlet who went out gave me your vote, who put their faith in me to represent them.
I'd like to pass on my congratulations to the Labour councilers, and hope they serve our community to their best of their ability.
Diolch, everyone 🏴
We're one day away from making a positive impact in our communities.
Remember to head out to your local polling station and vote for Plaid Cymru, the only party who can work with you to make a difference to our everyday lives. 🗳️
Out and about once more in Birchgrove, not even the rain could stop us! Just because the election is only two days away doesn't mean we can rest easy. There's always work to be done and it's work that I am happy to do!
If you want to help make a difference to your communities, and are tired of Labour promising but never delivering, then join me and so many others on May 5th and vote Plaid Cymru.
Happy Pride everyone! Let's take the chance today to celebrate the diversity that helps to make Wales one of the most accepting and beautiful places to live. More unites us than divides us.
If you are concerned about your energy bills, there are those who can offer support, for free, and help you to better tackle the cost of living crisis.
Let's make the difference that will better our communities, all across Wales.
Mark your calendars for May 5th, and vote for Plaid Cymru.
🚍 Access to a reliable public transport system to better reach our green spaces
🧑⚕️ Improved care services and a better deal for care workers
🧑 Investment into mental health services for young people
If you care about these issues and want a better, healthier future for your community, then you can bring about that change by voting Plaid Cymru on May 5th.
Is anyone else tired of Swansea Labour promising us all these wonderful things, only when they are in danger of losing their seats, less than a month before election day?
Too long have they dangled baubles in front of our eyes and never delivering. Wasting time and money on vanity projects, when that same time and money could be spent on real improvements to our communities. Bus shelters, community spaces, money for mental health services, the list goes on.
If you're as tired as I am, then join me in showing Labour council that we're fed up of the lack of action and change in our communities, and vote Plaid on May 5th.

Boris Johnson, and all those who partied when we and our loved ones were in lock down must resign at once. A failure to take responsibility only demonstrates how truly rotten this UK government is.
Out and about supporting Tristan Gjertsen for Llansamlet today.
Very clear that Tristan is passionate about his community and would make a fantastic Plaid Cymru councillor.
Allan o gwmpas yn heddiw yn cefnogi Tristan Gjertsen.
Mae'n amlwg iawn bod Tristan yn angerddol am ei gymuned ac y byddai'n gwneud cynghorydd Plaid Cymru gwych.
Today is World Parkinson's day.
Let's use today as chance to keep those suffering from Parkinson's in our hearts and minds, and perhaps take the chance to learn more about this condition that not only effects those suffering from it, but ripples out to those around them as well.
Can't help but agree!
Watch: Pope Francis calls on Wales to 'preserve' the Welsh language and inspire others to use it Welsh has long been referred to as the ‘language of heaven’ but has now gained the approval of the Pope himself. Another busy day of Canvassing today, it's amazing how quickly time flies when speaking to people.
I will be out again tomorrow, ready to listen to your concerns and hopes for the future of our ward.
Saint Samlet's church in the middle of Llansamlet is central to our community in more ways than one, and it has been since the first church building was built on the site in the middle ages. I know it'll be sorely missed by the community while it is closed for renovation, but at the same time it's very exciting and heartwarming to see this historic community building being given a new lease of life so it can continue to be a symbol of Llansamlet for many years to come. 💚
🗳️ Vote for Plaid Cymru on 5 May - for a local voice committed to making a difference. ❤️🏴
A prime example of why I, and many others in Plaid Cymru, are keen to have the buses brought back under council control.
Many people, myself included, rely on bus services as their only means of transportation, helping to reach places of work, enjoy the facilities and events on offer in Swansea, and to combat loneliness by visiting loved ones. We all deserve a better run, more expanded service, no matter where in Swansea we may live.
First Cymru cancels more than 80 bus routes in Swansea The bus company is experiencing 'operational difficulties' this morning and has cancelled multiple services
New leaflets have arrived, ready to distribute.
I will be about and about on Thursday, and I hope to see you and discuss how we can make a positive impact to our communities.
I have received my poll card for the election, ready to cast my vote on May 5th.
No matter where you are, make sure you're registered to vote. It takes less than 15mins and will help to ensure that you get your say in deciding the future of our communities.
Or perhaps we could allow the people to choose someone worth celebrating? Rather than a figure who is notorious for the harm done to Welsh communities.
Government minister 'very supportive' of rolling out Margaret Thatcher Day across the UK A UK Government Minister has backed the idea of a Margaret Thatcher Day to be celebrated in Wales, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Yet another example of what Plaid Cymru is able to accomplish to help the people of Wales.
🍽️ Plaid Cymru is proud that our policy of free school meals for every primary school pupil is being realized as part of the Co-Operation Agreement with the Welsh Government. 🏴 Making a Difference.

🍽️ Mae Plaid Cymru yn falch bod ein polisi o brydau ysgol am ddim i bob un plentyn cynradd yn cael ei wireddu, fel rhan o'r Cytundeb Cydweithio gyda Llywodraeth Cymru. 🏴 Gweithredu dros Gymru
Today I have successfully handed in my nomination to stand for election on May 5th. We're now one step closer to instigating real change in our community and demonstrating that there is a better alternative for our future.
Wishing a Happy Mother's day to all those celebrating this fantastic day, and wishing peace for those who for today reminds us of those we love who are not with us any longer.
News that I'm sure will come to a relief for all those who struggle with the costs of ensuring their children do not go hungry during the school day.
The pressure relief this will deliver to struggling families could be the difference between financial difficulties and staying afloat. In a modern society, families should never be forced to chose who gets to eat on different days of the week.
🚨 Plaid Cymru led councils will commit to the aim of extending free school meals to all secondary school pupils. 🏴
--
🚨 Bydd cynghorau dan arweiniad Plaid Cymru yn ymrwymo i’r nod o ymestyn prydau ysgol am ddim i bob disgybl ysgol uwchradd. 🏴
Excellent news and long overdue to leave such a damaging practice in the past. As a father I welcome this news wholeheartedly.

Physically punishing children illegal in Wales from today as 'smacking ban' law comes into force Physically punishing children is now illegal in Wales after a new law came into force today, leaving England as the only nation in Britain where it is legal to slap a child. The legislation removes what the Welsh Government called “the archaic 160-year-old legal defence” and provides children wi...
Best of luck to Wales today, let's end the six nations on a strong note!

💚 Drwy gydweithio â'r llywodraeth mae Plaid Cymru yn falch o fod yn gwneud gwahaniaeth: prydau ysgol am ddim i bob plentyn ysgol gynradd, ac ymestyn prydau am ddim dros yr haf
💚 By working together with the government Plaid Cymru is proud to be making a difference: Free School Meals for ALL primary school children and now extending free meals over the summer holidays
It's frustrating and disappointing to see a chance to celebrate some of great names from Swansea's history be missed.

! Today is a day to celebrate the women in our lives and give our thanks to all they do for us, each other, and our communities.
I personally would like to give my thanks to my mother, my grandmother and aunt for helping to raise me into the person I am today.
I would also like to take this chance give thanks to the women in politics in Wales such as Sioned Williams, Liz Saville Roberts, Delyth Jewell and many more who lead the way and help to make Wales a better, more equal, place to live.
Wales will always be a nation of sanctuary.

Wales is missing out on bank holidays. The Westminster government should do the little things, and designate St David's Day a national holiday in Wales.

Mae Cymru ar ei hôl hi o ran gwyliau cenedlaethol. Dylai llywodraeth San Steffan wneud y pethau bychain a gwneud Gŵyl Ddewi yn ddydd gŵyl yng Nghymru.
Happy St. David's day!
It's wonderful to see so many celebrations of Welsh history, language, and culture all across Wales.
And not only that but seeing the efforts and initiatives to ensure the continuation of everything that helps to make Wales the best it can be going forward, whilst still celebrating our history is something that should be celebrated in and of itself.
I'm hosting a Fairtrade Coffee Morning in my new office in Neath tomorrow.
Pop in between 11am - 1pm for a cuppa and a chat about the difference we can all make.

🇺🇦 We cannot absolve ourselves of our responsibility to Ukraine. The UK Government must turn their piecemeal sanctions into a full-scale economic embargo against the Russian state.
