Swimmer's ear (otitis externa) is caused by dirty water getting trapped in the ear canal which leads to inflammation or infection. While it's more common if you are in the sea or river, and especially during the summer months, here are some tips to help avoid it:

💧 Tip your head to one side to allow the water to drain out
💧 Use a towel to dry your ears
💧 Wear earplugs when in the water
💧 DON'T put anything in your ears, including cotton buds, to clean or dry them!
