Remember a Charity Week: 9 – 15th September 2024
'Remember a Charity Week' is an opportunity for you to make a positive difference by leaving a gift in your will.
Such a legacy to Dressability would help us continue our work adapting and altering clothing for people of all ages with disabilities, dexterity issues, or other individual needs. With your generosity and kindness we can enable more of society to dress independently, confidently, and comfortably.
Please consider the huge difference you could make; leave a gift to Dressability in your will.
Last week some of our Thursday volunteer group went to Prospect Hospice to deliver green aprons made by Dressability volunteers.
Prospect Hospice is vital to the Swindon community, and it's a privilege to be able to support the important work they do as a fellow local charity. Support your local charities! 🙌
Thanks also to Simon at Vagabond bags, for donating the fabric which made this project possible.
Wishing Anne, Princess Royal a very Happy Birthday! We were overjoyed that Anne visited Dressability HQ in February this year, it was an honour to welcome her and demonstrate the excellent work produced by our team.

Dressability's Nicky (pictured) and Sharon went to Swindon Sense this week with a donation of clothing.
We're always looking for donations of new, unworn clothing for our projects, and if we can't use them ourselves then we always donate them forward; zero waste.
Our manager Stephen Gray joined BBC Wiltshire's Sue Davies live this morning, to talk about sustainability, specifically unworn clothes!
Did you know that we accept donations of new, unworn clothing with tags still on? With these items, we:
- Can use them in projects
- Adapt and sell them on
- Forward them onto other local charities if we cannot use them
You can listen to Steve's radio interview by clicking the link below, and if you have unworn clothing that could support Dressability's charitable activities, please get in touch!

In glorious weather, we met lots of people at our stand from our Swindon community, including some of the children who have had alterations from Dressability, plus the mayor, Imtiyaz Shaikh.
Pictured here are Dressability volunteers Nicky, Eileen, and Jane, alongside the mayor.
Thanks to everyone who organised such a fantastic event!

De-branding and recycling clothing to those in need. Can we help your charity?
As part of Dressability’s ongoing community services, we de-brand new, unworn clothing that would normally be going to waste.
The clothing is kindly sent to us as donations from a variety of businesses who have imperfect items, or from retail manufacturers who have unsold end of season clothing or sample clothing. Most are very happy to find a good use for these items.
We are always delighted to take delivery of such items, as not only is it recycling to help with sustainability but offers much needed warm clothing for individuals. We distribute these items, de-branded, to a variety of charities who offer the de-branded garments to homeless, refugees and others in need of clothing.
If you are a charity who would have a need for such items of clothing, please do get in touch as we’d love to help.
Call Sharon Tombs for further information.
