It’s smooth pure contrast of colours bring so much joy and excitement to any interior. 💙

Marit Geraldine Bostad (1976) is an abstract colourist who works and lives in Horten Vestfold County, Norway. She investigates themes such as the inner psyche, memories and human interaction through her series of paintings. She blends colours by pouring paint directly onto the canvas using a variety of tools, seldom using the paintbrush - to create diverse, versatile effects with broad expressive strokes.

Marit Geraldine explores the Nordic Colour tradition in a bold new direction, blending tone to tone pastels with sparks of fluorescent, manifesting her own personal psychic state onto the canvas. She builds up and breaks down the diverse elements of her experience and brings them together in a new plastic dimension. Through this, she expresses universal archetypes that transcend the particular conditions of her own life, setting the scene for the audience to bring their own meaning to her work.

‘Life Is Not A Fairy Tale’

Echoing his mother words “somewhere I must gone wrong raising you”, Heath has not been one to stay on the straight and narrow path. With an insatiable curiosity for oddities and irregularities in life, Heath’s eyes are always open finding new things.

Born in Australia, Heath quickly took flight to explore the world in his early 20’s. During that time has been working at the forefront of design, working for many of the world’s leading advertising and branding agencies.

Now turning his attention back to art, his debut collection draws inspiration from his commercial art background and origins of urban art – a blend of design and art. His approach follows the practice of design thinking, with a focus on creating simple, iconic and memorable pieces that have the ability to tell stories and are linked to a larger narrative. Within the, often lurid colour, artwork he tries to distill subtle but often subversive themes.

Welcome to Oink!
For all our beautiful new followers, I thought I’d do a little introduction to myself and the gallery. My names Mark and I’m Curator and Director of Oink Gallery. With a background in design I opened the gallery to follow my passion in art, design and interiors. Having run the gallery for nearly 7 years now we are always evolving, introducing new artists and exhibitions to the space. Our latest exhibition is a pure example of that with a selection of abstract artists and designer homeware from Belgium brand Serax which is on for one more week, so if you’ve not had a chance to see yet get into our beautiful space in Old Town, Swindon. One thing I would like to say is we really believe in making art accessible for everyone, art should be just that and so you will always get a friendly welcome from myself and team when you enter the door.
