People often moan there's not enough independent businesses in Tamworth.
We are one of the oldest, behind Wyldes Sweet Shop and Jenks Opticians.
Jumping in on any family owned local business with an immediate 1* review is not kind. Engaging with the business is. Give them a chance to earn a 5* review by putting something right for you before you steam in.
Even if this hanger is found, and it is 99% likely to be, the damage is done. It will take 15 to 20 5* reviews to get the % back that's been lost. In this case we dropped from 4.6 to 4.5. At the end of the day we're not Ben Spud Man , we're tiny.
Why does that matter? It affects how Google sees us and where they put us when people search.
Also in this case, it's probably dry cleaning so not a review about us at all, but about our partner business who dry clean for us.

Top Tip: Buy larger to accommodate fast growers - ask to keep the excess in place and we can later let it down rather than you buying new!

🏆Honorary Freedom of the Borough has been awarded to Ben Newman in recognition of his entrepreneurship, innovation, and courage in the face of adversity in service to Tamworth.

The decision to grant Ben the honour was voted for unanimously at the full council meeting on 9 July 2024.

Councillor Nova Arkney, Portfolio Holder for infrastructure, heritage and local economy, said: “Ben has really helped put Tamworth as a town ‘on the map’, with his millions of social media followers, press coverage and collaboration with celebrities, he really has contributed to the pride and promotion of our great town.”
“We’re delighted to present the Freeman of the Borough to Ben.” 👏

Our most recent 5* review! Quality at a great price!

We moved the shop around a bit and created not just one but two new big changing areas! With far more room to move, we're really happy with them! It's also helped us create a larger pinning area.
Because little improvements matter! :)

Imagine collecting your jeans and they were shortened with black cotton, your new grey suit has black cotton stitches, or worse, your white shirt!
It does happen at other alterations places - not here!
We have thousands of cottons to choose from and match with the item we're using it on. We don't buy a job lot of black and then only use that as it's cheap.
The only time you'd see very visible stitches is if it's meant to be like that! And if you're wondering, there's lots of shades of jeans orange too!

🔊Tamworth Borough Council are supporting an incentive to help families source school uniforms for their children, ready for the new school year 2024/2025.

The council are encouraging families to donate good quality uniforms no longer required, as part of an event to support residents in saving money on school uniform costs.

Residents are invited to bring all good quality uniforms, (including those with a school logo) to Tamworth Town Hall on Friday 2 August between 2pm and 4pm. Donations will then be sorted ready for Saturday 3 August between 9am and 3pm, where clothing will be available from a market stall near to the Town Hall. Families are invited to come along and source uniforms. There will be no charge for the clothing.

Our dry cleaner is closed for the holiday from Dec 22 to Jan 2. We'll still be able to take your garments in for cleaning, but they wouldn't be collected by the dry cleaner until Jan 2.

Buttons! The manufacturer puts a lot of thought into buttons; getting the right colour, size, shape that sets off the item it's going on perfectly - and then, 4 holes or 2?!
We pride ourselves on the level of detail we have. We hate seeing other places, who frankly don't care, putting odd buttons on.
So today, we went on a hunt, for a set of buttons to match this one. We found the perfect set to order! The only thing missing is the lettering. So, we'll replace all 10, not just the missing one.
Because details matter!
