Hi Everyone 👋

So just needed to make a post as I know there are quite a few of you waiting for Quotes, Invoices, Dates or even just an Email reply but I need people to understand it is just ME 🙋‍♀️ at the end of the communications. Its just me & Arron fullstop but when he's out working the jobs it's just ME little old me at the end of the text messages, the emails, the Facebook msgs, the phone calls, the scheduling & everything else that comes with Arron being able to do the amazing work he does 😍 & as some of you will know sometimes I'm sending these emails in the early hours 🤦‍♀️ just to keep up & we have 2 children with busy school, college & sports schedules, one about to sit A-Levels & one navigating her 1st year of secondary school so it's alot & I am sorry that people are still waiting & wondering, it became all very overwhelming & emotional & I just needed to step away for a couple of days & gather my thoughts. I do plan to contact everyone still waiting in the next 48hrs so please just bare with me & if you are waiting on some type of communication & you haven't heard from me by Wednesday evening please pop me another msg or email. Again massive apologies which I feel is all I ever say these days lol but I am sorry & I will be in touch!! ☺️

This customer wanted a Media Wall Cabinet but not the generic Stud work & Plaster, they wanted something more bespoke & unique to their home that fits with the feel of the property, they gave us some ideas of the kind of style they liked & Arron got to work on a design! 💭

A Cottage Style Media Wall Cabinet.
Frames and Cornice are made using Tulip wood from Devon Hardwoods & the carcass is Moisture Resistant Medite MDF with Bead & Butt back panels and soft close doors, finished in Dulux Diamond Eggshell. 😍🔥✨️🙌

So this customer wanted rid of the White UPVC door, it didnt really fit with the rest of the house so they wanted something more in keeping with their country home!! 😬

The customer picked a Tudor Style Door & opted for the Sustainable Timber Hardwood option & went for Idigbo (African Hardwood) for durability. They opted to have the door bespoke built fitted & stained with Sadolin Extra & Classic wood protection with a light Oak finish. 🛠🚪🪚

So this customer needed the first 2 doors in the pictures replacing as soon as possible they were both rotting & had definitely seen better days! 😬

Back gate & Pergola for this customer, all made from treated tanalised timber, the pergola was fixed down with heavy duty powder coated feet onto concrete footers under the Sandstone Patio for strengthening and to be finished in the colour of the customers choice, plus 4 corners holes drilled for uplights to be fitted later, now completed shown in last picture. 📸

Running a business is really hard..😔

What they don’t tell you is that it is mentally draining and potentially leads to severe anxiety, stress and depression in even the most laid back people. People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.

You have to worry about if you forget to phone/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality, you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails sometimes.

You have the continuous stress of whether your business is making enough profit, if you have made enough to pay the bills, pay the wages, scrape by.

Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, sometimes causing them to breakdown and fail because there just is no work-life balance when starting a new business.

You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend... you don’t get to go home and forget about it, it’s a 24/7 thing that’s on your mind.

There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5-10 years. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting, especially the past two years. Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient….. and hopefully, more of us will stick around!
