Media students at Strode College have been creating short animations to promote the work done by Route1 Advocacy. The students met Route1 Coordinator Julie to find out about the types of work done to support young people in care or have a social worker, and the amazing work done by volunteers. This project is in its fourth your and is a valuable addition to the Professional and Technical media course at Strode College.
Adrian Smith, Course Manager for the Creative Media Production at Strode College said “This project gives our students the opportunity to work with a real client, and to build new skills. Working with a real client also allows the students to develop their professional practice and workplace skills.”
The finished animations will be used to promote the amazing work carried out by Route1 and to help them recruit new volunteers as this is crucial to helping Somerset’s young people. Once the animations are complete, the finished films can be seen on Route1’s website and social media feeds.
Route1 Team Manager Stella said “This project is a great example of young people in Somerset supporting each other. We are always so impressed with the quality of the animations produced by the students at Strode College and love having a selection to use.”
