I’ve deliberated over the last few years weather to charge extra for nail art. As the trend is growing and becoming slightly more challenging 😰 I am going to ask for a small contribution to cover the cost of any art bits used (stickers/foil etc) and the extra time I have to book out. This will only be an extra couple of pounds, and not charged per nail.
I hope you understand, and still very happy to attempt any designs you bring me.

I have opened the diary an extra day or too, and work later where possible, but if you have struggled to get booked in please contact me.

Nearing the end of a very busy, strange and tad emotional day.
Foundry cottage will be closing again this evening for another lock down. I will be staying at home for at least a month while the majority of my family and friends around me will continue to go to work and be able to earn, my children will continue to go school, and all hopefully avoid this awful virus.

Thank you all for your supporting messages and kind words. The flowers, extra tips and pep talks today, your loyalty is very much heartfelt and appreciated.
(I will get my head around all this and stop sulking very soon!!)

We are reopening, my first day back to work will be Thursday 23rd July.
The online appointment system is now back open, as I’m sure you are aware I can’t do any treatments on the face, but can take nail and waxing appointments

Please read and adhere to the following,

**if you are experiencing any coronavirus symptoms please let me know asap so we can reschedule your appointment.

**Please use the hand gel on entering the salon.

**You must come alone, and wear a mask.

**There will be no waiting in the salon, please turn up at your exact appointment time, if you are late I will not to be able to carry out the appointment and it will still be charged for.

**You’ll notice on booking that I’ve increased the time needed for each appointment, this is to ensure you don’t overlap with another client and so I have time to clean and sanitise all furniture and equipment.

**For the time being there will be no nail art on offer, this is to keep appointment duration down to a minimum for safety reasons.

**Please don’t touch or pick up the gel bottles, You can tell me which colours you want to look at and I’ll do all the handling.

**Every client will have their own nail file and buffer, I’ll keep this in a small sealed container with your name on it.

**there will be a slight price increase of £2 on most nail treatments, I haven’t put my prices up in many years and I hope you’ll understand this is to cover extra costs of ppe, equipment and extended appointment slots.

So the news we’ve been waiting for, I can reopen.
I’m just getting my head round it all to be honest and have to arrange childcare as neither of mine are back at school.

I still have to wait for the government guidlines to know exactly what I have to put in place, I’m not allowed to do any treatments on the face but will definitely be back doing nails.
I won’t be back to work next week but am aiming for the week after, it will hopefully be alternate Wednesdays, every Thursday and Friday and alternate Saturdays.

Thank you for all the messages of support and asking for an appointment, I really appreciate it and love the fact you are eager to book in with me. I will get back to you as soon as I know an exact start date and am ready to open the diary.

Beautiful start to the day, with my fav’s ❤️

It wasn’t the best news yesterday, as I am unable to reopen on the 4th July.
However, I very much appreciate the kind messages of support I received, I feel lucky to have you all.
I have all the essential ppe ready, the salon has had a little rejig, I am ready to go as soon as i get the green light and told it’s safe to do so.
When this happens I will update you all with the relevant info on how to book, and how your treatments will be performed safely.

Regarding the latest information from Boris Johnson last night, I’m afraid I will remain closed for a while longer.

It’s obviously not possible to socially distance in the work I do, and I will only return to work when it’s possible to work safely and keep us protected.

However I am remaining hopeful and positive, and looking into the measures I will take for when I can return.

I am going to source medically certified ppe.
The ppe for return to work must include a face visor, a k95 face mask ( usual 3 ply are not protective enough for prolonged close contact) and a disposable gown, protective sleeves and caps for other treatments like semi permanent makeup.

Appointment times will not be able to overlap, I’ll make the times slightly longer so we have time to rebook etc before the next client can arrive, so only one person in at a time.

So let’s sit tight for now, I’ll keep you all updated as this unfolds and we take the steps to come out of lockdown.

I’m afraid it has come to that time where I can’t continue to work. It’s impossible for me to work, and adhere to the government guidelines to keep at least 2 meters away.

All appointments are cancelled for the foreseeable.
I’m sure you’ll all understand, it’s to keep us safe.

It is quite a scary and uncertain time at the moment and I just wanted to let clients know the situation as it’s stands with the coronavirus.

I personally will remain open as long as it is safe to do so or I’m strongly advised not to.

I ask that all clients myself included, to wash their hands before and after any treatment, please feel free to bring your own antibacterial hand gel.
I will wipe over my nail station and any areas with antibacterial wipes in-between each client.

Please if you or anyone you live with have any symptoms or are unwell, I ask you please cancel or reschedule your appointment, there will be no cancellation charge.
