Store opening hours.... this Saturday 31/8/24 will be our last 'normal operating hours'. From 1st September we are moving to 'by appointment only' for the shop. We will be updating the online shop over the next few weeks/months with available stock. All dive training remains the same with our next open water dives on 7th Sept. And pool training on 4th Sept.

Yesterday we heading up to Vobster for training dives.. well done to Martin and Alan both completing their wreck speciality course. And to Amy and Eve - our youngest open water students this year completing their dives allowing them to dive to 12m.. thanks as always to the amazing staff team.. Paul, Ian and Graeme. Also nice to see Ian, LJ and Alex also getting In for a pleasure dive..
Next dive dates weekend of 7/8 Sept..

This week the team were involved in Scoutmoor, which sees over 1500 scouts, Explorers, beavers and squirrels heading to Exeter for 5 days of activities, overnight camps and general fun!
The Scuba Scene were In attendance and managed to get over 350 scouts and Explorers under the water and blowing bubbles for the first time in our mobile pool. We hope this will inspire many to continue on their journey and we feel privileged to be able to give the opportunity to so many.
The weather was kind - although our casualty of the week was the event tent that develop a new sunroof overnight!
So proud of the team of scuba scene professionals - everyone involved in the event had so many good things to say about you all...And we all know those taking part loved it with the big smiles!
So my thanks to Ken, Ian, Kerry, Sam, Simon, Nelson, Phil and Al you did good!

Congratulations to all of our open water students today, who completed dives 3 and 4 and achieved their Open Water certification.
This now allows them to dive to 18 meters anywhere in the world with a qualified buddy.
Congratulations to Alan on completing his advanced open water certification allowing him to dive to 30 meters with a qualified buddy.
Thanks go to Paul Savage, Martin Gregory and Ian Williams, for instructing or continuing their Divemaster training.
It’s good to know that one of the divemaster trainees, went in sympathetically with the students in wet suits. Apparently he was out of the water shortly after entering.

So out of the last 8 days we have spent 4 days underwater. Total of 27 students, 18 new open water divers, 2 Advanced Open water students, 7 scuba divers and 4 drysuit speciality students. Massive thanks to 5 instructors, 2 Assistant instructors, 2 Divemasters and 2 trainee DMs and everyone else who helped out...
Plus we had a team.of instructors, DMs and TDMs and qualified divers down at Porthkerris for the last 3 days...
Think time for a rest now.......at least until Wednesday night's pool.session!

It’s been a busy day today with Scuba Scene.

Congratulations to Daisy, on completing her Open Water and Dry Suit certification allowing her to dive to 18 meters, any where in the world, with a certified Buddy.

Congratulations also to Jess, Hannah and Roger, for completing the first three dives of there Open Water and Dry suit qualifications.

Congratulations also to Finley, John, Lucy and Cerys, for completing dives one and two of their Open Water certification in Semi dry’s.

Thanks as always to the dive team, who come and support us. Ian Angell, Paul Savage, Nelson Sandford, Martin Gregory and Ian Williams.

From our resident photographer Paul Savage...'Pipefish i saw when on Elphinstone reef out in the Red Sea. It was the smallest pipefish i have ever seen it was literally like a thread of cotton about 30mm long. I would have never have seen it if it hadn't have moved and i had a wide angle lens on.'

Due to a dive trip we are closed this week 22 Apr. Shop should be open on Saturday 27th but just check by phoning first..

We had a busy morning completing 48 scuba experiences for YDSC swim team and staff from Oxley pool.. plus we donated £100 back to the club for equipment. Thanks to the staff team that helps out...

Congratulations to Gary and Isla, on completing the Advanced Open Water course, allowing the to both dive with a buddy down to 30 meters.
Thanks also to Steven Hyslop, Ian Williams and Graeme Mears, for all there support as Trainee Divemasters today.

We now have places available for Vobsters night dives next Thursday evening (4th April) let me know if you are attending... just need to know if you wish to just dive ot complete night speciality (3 dives)

A great day of training dives at Vobster with Advanced Open water and trainee Divemasters being put through their paces. Well done to everyone and thanks to Paul S, Steve H, Graeme M and Ian W.... next open water dives next weekend (keep an eye out for details) and training on 7th and 13th April...

Did you know... scuba scene is about to celebrate 20 years... we not only train individual customers but also school groups, scouts and girl guides... this year summer we have a week of scuba experience for over 1000 scouts in the South West....

Although we have much reduced hours in the shop at present it doesn't stop all those divers in the pool... why not begin your underwater adventure..

We are looking at night dives at Vobby potentially on 4th or 11th April... who wants in???
