Did you know you can still overdose on prescribed medication?

If you don’t take the medication as intended by your doctor it could lead to your symptoms not getting any better, negative side effects, and overdose.

❗ An important message to share is that overdose is preventable ❗

Naloxone reverses the effects of an opioid overdose and we provide it in all of our drug and alcohol services. If you don’t already have it, just ask us.

"During my visits to Telford stars for alcohol issues I was given a supportive support worker who helped me get into a medicated detox as I was dependent on alcohol.

During my visits we discussed group options for support, online and face to face. I attended groups about detox and coping strategies and was then offered a place to go to start my treatment.

My treatment lasted 10 days and was a lot easier than I anticipated. The detox place was beautiful, the staff and peers very helpful and funny too. I understand it all detox’s are the same but we were allowed phones and an online shop from Asda :) all checked for contraband:D

Thank you to all at stars and the medical team for making this happen. I’m 29 days sober today and feel blessed. (P.s if going to medicated detox take your own blankets and pillows because theirs are plastic and not nice :D"
