Thank you to the lively crowd of lovely readers who arrived at the shop today to meet and chat to the brilliant author Anna Abney (also known as Madeline Dewhurst). Her book - The Messenger of Measham Hall - is a storming tale of fiction set in the turbulent days if the 17th century when the Dutch ruler William of Orange threatened to invade our shores. There's lots of action taking place in to Kent too so this novel is already proving a hit with local history fans.

We're delighted to host an 'at home and in conversation with' the amazing Fergus the Priest on Wednesday, June 21, at 6.30pm. Fergus who grew up in Tenterden is the author of three brilliant books including the entertaining Field Guide to the English Clergy, and the compelling non-fiction epic - Priests de la Resistance!: The Loose Canons whi Fought Fascism in the Twentieth Century.

Hundreds of our customers and friends made the annual Remembrance Sunday walk to the town War Memorial today to honour those Tenterden men and women killed during times of military conflict. Two minutes of silence was held at 11am.
