(Don’t worry I won’t spam you, It’s just once a month)
Am open this weekend .. but heads up.. I’m away seeing my retailers in Scotland next week so the shop will only be open on the Saturday
I’ve had a very exciting week as I’ve had a new yarn arrive and this is one I’ve lusted after for years.. it’s hand dyed sock from Vykky at West Green Loft yarns and it’s absolutely beautiful.. her colours are just so delicate, tonal and harmonious they’re delicious 😍
Yesterday I had lots to choose from.. got tbh, not so much today as the knit and natter group got rather excited, but swipe across to see some colour suggestions that I do have in stock.
I’ve finished a thing! And I’ve even sewn in the ends! 😆This is Stephen West’s Woven Check shawl using Crazy Zauberball and Lang Yarns Jawoll… a nice easy pattern and millions of colour choices (no exaggeration)
I’m loving this duck egg shade atm, am obviously having a blue moment as I’ve just realised my new project is the same colour 😆 do you do this too?
Am open as normal this weekend so hope to see you soon x
Good morning 😊👋and what a glorious morning it’s turning out to be!
Gave me a chance to pop outside and take a picture of this fabulous new yarn.. Donegal Tweed + .. it’s a rustic, authentic pure wool from The Donegal Mill in an Aran weight and there are some excellent wearable pattern available to support it. I’ve got 6 shades to start but there’s a big range of colours including some bright saturated shades. I’m open as normal this weekend so pop in xx

Martin Storey is one of my favourite Rowan designers And his design for the KAL this year is just gorgeous! The Snowflower scarf uses the best yarn in the world (Felted Tweed) in really soft, delicate shades to create this wonderful fairisle piece. The patterns are entirely free and you can download them from the Knit Rowan website and if you can’t wait to cast on, I have all the shades in stock now
Well this is a bit exciting.. I am now stocking Petite Knit printed knitting patterns for those of you who like an old school, hard copy! 😄
I’ve got a small selection of babies, children and adults to start, but hopefully this will grow over the season. Now to decide which project to cast on first! Xx ( p.s open as normal this weekend )
(P.p.s am adding to the website now)
Do you ever knit a project that takes wayyyyy longer than it should, because you have to stop every couple of rows to admire your work?!?!
That was me knitting this hat! 😆
Swipe across to see W***y modelling it .. the yarn is Lang Yarns Magnolia…it’s really soft, an absolute dream to knit and the colours so delicious, that I’m now searching for a sweater pattern for me .. any recommendations for boxy Aran weight sweater patterns gratefully received. 🙏🏻
I’m open today till 4.30 so pop over for a squish x
Brrr.. it’s cold and wet this morning and I’m in need of some cosy knitting! Rowan Big Wool to the rescue! The pattern support this year is fantastic…Top down, in the round, some really wearable knits for both beginner and more advanced knitters.. it’s in the shop and online now and Big Wool is currently on offer 😊👏
Mini hoop is open 10-4.30 Fri/ Sat

Morning 😊👋mini hoop has been cleaned, counted and stacked and I’m now ready for autumn.. and I’m back to A/w hours too Thursday / Fridays and Saturdays 10-4.30 .. hope to see you soon x
Hello hello.. the best season of the year has arrived! Knitting ( and Strictly) season .. and that means I’m back in the shop and back to normal hours! Thurs/ Fri and sat 10-4.30
I’m not moving anywhere atm, so the credit card is out and I’m starting to fill mini hoop with Autumnal goodies like this little baby blanket in Lang Yarns Mille Colori Baby, 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙
Look forward to seeing you soon xx
Morning lovely people.. I’m back! Had a glorious time and now I’m ready for winter.. while I was away the first of the winter yarns arrived and it’s Magnolia, an Aran weight colourful chainette of soft merino. It comes in big 100g balls of 250m, so one is enough for a hat or cowl and 4 knits this cute tunic. It’s £16.95 a ball and it’s in the shop today and I’m open 10-4!! See you soon x
I’m off on my hols.. W***y and I are going camping in France! We’re in our tent - it’s been a good decade since we last went and we’re not entirely sure we’re going to be able to get up after sleeping on the floor but we’re willing to give it a go! ⛺️ 😆
When I get back, I’m off to do our trade show, so the shop is only open for 3 days over the next couple of weeks.. and today is one of them! I’m here if you need a bank holiday project 😊xx
You can still squeeze in a summer knit.. or just grab Crealino this weekend as it has 15% off both online and in the shop.. this is 100% linen and it makes amazing swingy sweaters, petite knit bags and cool scarves.
I’ve stumbled on the perfect Olympic knitting project.. Woven check shawl by Stephen West.. a nice, easy knit that shows off my favourite Crazy Zauberballs.. this is perfect for when you have to stop knitting to watch Simone Biles being fabulous! 😁 if you need a project to get you through the next week of the Olympics, I’m open today and tomorrow 10-4.30 xx
I’m still making crochet star blocks.. this one isn’t my usual colour palette but it’s a special block for a memory blanket.. the hand knitting industry lost the very fabulous Kim of Alterknit a couple of months ago now and she’s much missed.. but this block just about sums her up I think ⭐️🩷🧡
I’m really super chuffed with this crochet cushion ..I made this using, By Laxtons Sheepsoft Dk, a rustic British, pure wool and the block is inspired by Tipsy Tessie.. if you’re not already following her, then do so to see the most beautiful quilts and crochet.
If you’d like to make your own, then I have some kits in stock in the shop and online x
I’ve got a brand new yarn to show off this morning.. this is Wool sisters from Schoppel Wolle… it’s a little 50g ball of single ply, pre felted 100% Merino with most incredible saturated colours.. it’s lovely to work with and finished result is divine 🥰
I knitted this Traveller cowl using 3 different shades but it would be just as good in one colour. It’s in the shop and online now.
(and it’ll be going out to my shop ladies next week😘)
