Young people at Prior's Court have been fired up this week! Both real and edible sparklers have been providing endless entertainment for the homes, whilst elsewhere, young people took a trip to celebrate Bonfire Night!
As always, thank you to our staff for supporting these experiences.
There is one community trip our post yesterday didn't mention and that was this awesome visit to THORPE PARK Official on Halloween!
Huge thank you to every single staff member who supported this group of young people to have an amazing day out.
It is the first day of Term 2 at Prior's Court so a great time to say a massive thank you to all our staff members who supported young people to go out to some amazing community trips last week.
There were visits to Welford Park, The Look Out Discovery Centre, California Country Park, The Living Rainforest, bowling, meals out, the beach and many more 🌊🎢🍕🎳
Thank you to everyone who made these moments possible! 🙏
Our spook-tacular Halloween trick-or-treat experience returned to site tonight, and it was a frightful delight for young people and staff alike 🎃👻
Everyone had a boo-tiful time, and the costumes were ghoulishly good. 🕸️🧡

We are hugely excited to share the latest update on how the building of our autism-friendly Performing Arts Centre is going.
Take a look through the photos to see the new performing arts-based designs that are decorating the outside of either end of the building, the outdoor learning area taking shape, and how the lighting in the dance studio looks
though the construction phase of the performing arts centre has progressed significantly, this remains an ongoing fundraising project for Prior's Court.
We said goodbye to Jack yesterday after 6 wonderful years at Prior's Court, as he moves on to his next placement.
Jack had been with us since 2018, when he moved into our Young Adult Provision.
Known for his smiles and laughter, Jack has been a key part of Prior’s Court life. We wish him all the very best for his future which we believe is so bright.
While there is a touch of sadness in saying goodbye, we're excited that he is starting the next chapter of his adventure.
Thank you to every member of staff who has supported Jack over the years to become the best version of himself.
And that's a wrap on another 3-Day Structured Teaching course delivered by Prior's Court!
The 3-Day Structured Teaching course is a broad-based, intensive course for parents and professionals working with autistic individuals. Thank you to all of our internal and external delegates for attending.
We are proud to also offer 5-Day hands on TEACCH® classroom training this February, delivered by a clinical director from the University of North Carolina, where TEACCH® originated. Click the link in the comments to find out more and book your place👇
Prior's Court is excited to announce the launch of our brand new Play Equipment Fundraising Appeal!🎠
Accessing and enjoying play is an important part of life for everyone. For autistic young people with complex needs, play is essential for regulation, sensory development, and fine motor skills.
Help us improve the play equipment at Prior’s Court, meaning more young people can access and benefit from a range of fun and engaging apparatus.

A whole host of young people from Prior's Court are getting into the Halloween spirit, with pumpkin picking at Cobbs Farm Shop and some arts and craft decorations!
Our current batch of bakery learners have been hard at work over our first term of the 2024/25 year.
Last week, as Term 1 came to a close, tasty Halloween biscuits were being made which gave an opportunity to test piping skills.
Young adults Alfie and Brandon had a wonderful time on Friday night at the first evening of the Spectacle of Light experience at Welford Park.
The duo enjoyed exploring the grounds and their visit was topped off with a hot chocolate.
Thank you to the Charlotte House team members who organised the trip and supported Alfie and Brandon on their visit.
🎉 Huge shoutout to Joel from our Young Adult Provision! This week, after weeks of gentle encouragement from the Robin Cottage team, Joel rode a horse for the very first time at Little Hidden Farm 🐴✨
Before heading out for each weekly session since the start of September, staff members have been talking to Joel about horseriding a lot, to get him to feel excited about the session and what to expect. Horseriding was always on Joel's schedule for the day for him to be aware the visit was happening.
After a few weeks of wanting to walk the horse around, on Wednesday all that effort paid off—Joel’s joy is clear for everyone to see!
A massive well done to Joel for this amazing achievement, and a big thank you to the dedicated staff who helped make it happen. 🙌
The below post was written by young person Daniel L on his work experience session in our Marketing & Communications team today:
Snack time at Prior's Court is more than just a bite to eat. Our upper school students are learning valuable life skills like communication, independence, and healthy eating choices through our structured snack time. From choosing their food to socialising with peers, this experience prepares them for real-world situations.
Our snack time simulates a café environment, encouraging students to use their communication systems to make choices and practice turn taking. The supportive atmosphere and visual aids help them develop language skills and build confidence. Plus, they're learning to make healthy choices and tidy up after themselves.
Join us for "Connect", our latest corporate networking breakfast designed to help build your connections whilst supporting autistic young people with complex needs.
Whether you’ve visited us before, volunteered for us, donated to us - or don’t know much about us yet - we’d love you to attend on 21st November.
Take advantage of the opportunity to explore our expansive 52-acre site, engage in micro-volunteering, and discover how we can support your Corporate Social Responsibility objectives.
