Pegasus hosted a group of engineering students from the College of West Anglia, Kings Lynn, last week. The students had a tour of the factory to see first hand all of the cutting processes including our new 300A plasma profiling system as well as press braking, Lumsden grinding & plate rolling.

The new 300 amp Lightning plasma unit arrived in early December and was commissioned and cutting last week.

The 6.5m x 2.5m capacity bed will allow us to expand our cutting range and so far we have test cut up to 40mm carbon steel. Watch this space for updates as we start cutting in the New Year

Laser cut architectural staircase panels in 12mm mild steel recreated by our CAD designers to replicate a cast iron pattern.

Another major improvement with the arrival of the Ormig yard crane. This takes over plate handling in the yard and replaces the pair of Coles cranes which have served us well for many years.

On the 31st January we welcomed our first college group of visitors for a factory tour of ours sites in Thetford.

The dozen engineering students from the College of West Anglia had the chance to see first hand the largest steel plate profiling facility in East Anglia.

First day of installation for our new Kerf profile machine. The supports are installed & the rails are being aligned. The new six head flame cutting system replaces the last of our aging Portal machines which had served us well for many years.

Our new 12kw Fibre Laser has arrived. We can start the assembly commissioning process so we will be all set for the start of 2021

The first two units arrive - a compressor & nitrogen generation unit followed by a trailer full of crates.

Early November & we clear the central section of the second bay. The removal of the HD Plasma & bed clears the way for the next new machine which starts arriving mid November.

BBC Look East team lead by Richard Bond visit Pegasus to interview & film at the factory. The report was broadcast on Tuesday 11th August as part of the Look East programme.
