St. Swithin’s Day, (July 15), a day on which, according to folklore, the weather for a subsequent period is dictated. In popular belief, if it rains on St. Swithin’s Day, it will rain for 40 days, but if it is fair, 40 days of fair weather will follow. St. Swithin was bishop of Wi******er from 852 to 862. At his request he was buried in the churchyard, where rain and the steps of passersby might fall on his grave. According to legend, after his body was moved inside the cathedral on July 15, 971, a great storm ensued. The first textual evidence for the weather prophecy appears to have come from a 13th- or 14th-century entry in a manuscript at Emmanuel College, Cambridge.

So many people have asked us about Sunday… and maybe I went in a little heavy with the wording ‘family tragedy’…. But to us it was. Unfortunately there was an accident onsite with a customers vehicle and Guida are most precious corgi girl got hit by a car and passed away. This was not the customers fault in anyway. It was just a simple accident which could happen to any of us. Having a farm with moving vehicles and dogs is always a risk.
Guida was the most precious of girls, and bought joy to everyone she met. She made us giggle everyday and just had such a beautiful little soul. The place doesn’t feel as happy without her.
Sooooo, to be brutal and not allow the grass to grow under our feet you will be seeing a new attention to the pack shortly- watch this space.
We thank everyone who messaged us with concern and sending love… we are one big family here and everyone’s king words was very loving to see ❤️
And to Digby (Guida’s boyfriend) we are sorry for your huge loss… Guida loved you so very much ❤️

Goat sausages from the farm are back!!! They are on the menu and you can also buy them from the shop… 🐐
£6.40 for 8, £4.80 for 6…. Limited stock- come and get them!!

Due to a family tragedy the tearoom kitchen will be closed for the rest of the day. We will still be open for drinks and cake.. sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Normal kitchen service will resume on Tuesday… ❤️

These two beauties deserve a grid picture…in 2022 these two amazing humans met each other while performing at our carols in paradise on Christmas Eve in the choir… he had a little twinkle in his eye and a mission to get to know the girl with the amazing voice, got her details from who put the choir together on a whim and less than two years on they are married! Such a whirlwind romance story, and I’m beyond chuffed that a school friend has found her Prince…and in paradise! ❤️

Drum rollll…..High Paradise Farm goes Alfresco for the Summer! We are opening our doors every Friday and Saturday evening during the months of July and August! You can either walk in or drive to us!
Serving three course meals, pizzas, snacks and a fully stocked bar.. outside in our retractable roof covered courtyard with table heaters and blankets just in case! Alfresco style dining experience… ☀️

Ginny is away this weekend at a family wedding… but don’t fear the team are in as normal- just minus the gobby one! The menu has been slightly reduced to ease pressure on the kitchen side… but again as always there is plenty of choice and sooooo much cake there is no fear they will run out!
Have the most beautiful of weekends and get out into the countryside- everything is sooooo green at the moment!

Well today was a bit of a wild one… we served over 300 meals out of the kitchen today, over 150 slices of cake… and over 500 drinks! And breath….
Thank you for your patience- we didn’t expect the response to be so amazing… but we should have known really…HPF customers are simply the best- you always come out to support us! Thank you ☺️
And if you were new to us today- thank you! We promise it’s not always that busy! (We are not complaining!) 😎
We are sorry about the wait times and also if you turned up to a limited menu by 1pm- it was a little manic 🙈
And finally well done to the HPF team- they worked their little socks off today! I couldn’t be prouder of them 😄❤️

High Paradise is situated directly on the and also two cycling routes which start from …. You can hire bikes from them too!
If you just want to do a short walk to us our nearest carpark is the top of Sneck Yate, which is the top of Boltby Bank. It’s just a 1 mile walk to the farm… please remember no cars onsite for the tearoom- this is a planning condition- arrival by foot, bike or horse! 😝

We are looking for some part time staff… to cover staff holidays, school holidays and when we are extra busy! Mainly someone who can work in the kitchen and be able to serve customers…any interest in basic cooking is a bonus!
