MICROCEMENT
From an MDF sheet to looking like a solid piece of stone. At a fraction of the cost of all solid stone worktops.
Am chuffed to bits with this one!
Microcement is so versatile it can be used on pretty much any substrate. It can be used to make beautiful worktops like these, or in a bathroom to make a whole wet room as it drys completely waterproof. It can be used on heavy traffic floors due to it drying so hard, and even on external walls.
And it comes in many different colours, which can be manipulated by the installer to provide you with the desired affect.

Ceiling and external wall skimmed. Ready for floor and kitchen to go in. Looking forward to seeing the finished product on this one.
here's how we finish this product. Once we've laid on and flattened, we let it dry then go over in circular motions with a damp sponge (x3 this is 1 of the 3). With each sponge it fills any imperfections and creates a beautiful ๐ finish!
All in all this is a lovely product to use ๐ .

Nice and easy day today. Just the one set! Will do the rest tomorrow ๐ด (our own house) hard to find motivation to work on your own house, any tradesman will tell you. But it's very satisfying afterwards!

A couple of pictures from yesterdays job boarding out a living room, ready to be plastered today!
The chimney breast has been left exposed as requested by our customer as theyโre undecided on how to complete the room.
We would like to know your thoughts, should theyโฆ
A) leave the chimney breast exposed and make a feature of the brickwork (this will be repointed) ๐งฑ.
B) plasterboard and finish to match the rest of the room.
