As parents we sometimes forget the power of questions “who can touch their toes?” and competition “who can be the tallest?” to encourage toddler participation.

Most of the time it works, sometimes it doesn’t and that’s ok too. Toddlers need repetition and time to process at their own pace. The more they see and hear something, the more they are able to process what’s expected and the more likely they are to join in.

We think it’s so important for children’s introduction to healthy exercise to be positive and fun that we embrace their independent minds. We’ll encourage but we won’t insist. We are confident that with time they will want to join in anyway, so why rush them? I mean who doesn’t love bubbles, hoops and ribbons?! And you can count on some of that, as well as dancing to funky music, counting games and body part exercises.

Today I taught my first diddi dance class at my Performing Arts School in the Turks and Caicos Islands. So fun to watch the children and their adults move to music together, sing together, laugh together and just have fun TOGETHER!

Suitable for children who are steady on their feet and can follow some simple instructions.

diddi dance classes are designed to help your child enhance their coordination and rhythms. We are here to nurture their natural love of movement to music in a structured yet relaxed class

We use action songs, dancing games, fun exercises, props and much more to our own original, pop-esque music

We explore 16 different dance styles throughout the year

Grown ups stay for the session and are encouraged to join in

We believe in getting children moving as soon as possible, for a healthier, active future. What’s more our sessions get you moving too! So if your new job as mummy / daddy / granny / grandpa / caregiver isn’t allowing you to get to the gym like you used to; fret no more! Come and dance and smile to music! Our sessions combine games and dance exercises with props and songs to help children’s coordination, rhythm and both fine and gross motor skills.Enhancing the EYFS framework with body part awareness, language development by use of our counting song in three different languages and social skills. We offer sessions in nursery settings and public classes to help children develop and promote school readiness 📖

It's pretty shocking that the childrens activity sector is unregulated. Make sure you check who you're booking with. We make sure all our classes have DBS checked, first aid trained professional instructors.
