You don’t know what training is until you’ve completed 10 rounds of lactic prowler work. Session Detail. 6 Lengths of a 10m track (roughly 25-30s) 120s Rest x10 Try to complete all sets in under the 30s. Here’s my breakdown: 25s - 26s - 26s - 27s - 26s - 28s - 27s - 28s - 29s - 29s. DEAD. Simplicity and consistency get you results. No fancy stuff.
The DEADLIFT: So many people getting this movement so wrong without even knowing. Clip 1 shows you how to perform the movement (Romanian Deadlift) correctly. Flat back, tucked in chin, core engaged and thrust through the hips. 🏋🏼♀️ Clip 2: Most common mistake. A flat back does not mean arched. Over extension of the spine will lose any abdominal contraction and put to much stress on erector spinae and lower back. The head is up/looking forward as I lower the weight meaning tension in the neck and taking my spine out of neutral. Tip, don't perform the deadlift in front of a mirror. Looking at yourself will not help! 🙄 Clip 3: The rounded back and weak core will come from those trying to lift way to much off the ground. If you core muscles are not strong enough then they will not be able to hold you spine in a neutral position to execute the lift. The lower back will do the work, hips will tuck in, shoulder will drop and you will make yourself very vulnerable to injury when it comes to even just everyday movements. 😫 Lift correctly guys, for your own sake 👍 www.lukespersonaltraining.co.uk

Pull Ups. A back exercise. I see so many people pulling themselves up with their biceps and not engaging the back. Lift your chest, pinch your shoulders together and focus on lifting your chest to the bar. Drive the elbows down instead of pulling through your hands. Squeezing the shoulders back will engage the lats. It will be more challenging with correct form, but do it right, or don't do it at all. SUPINATED grip targets the rhomboids, mid traps and biceps. SQUAT TECHNIQUE! So many people squat incorrectly! Every day in the gym I see people not getting enough depth, heels coming off the floor, shoulders and chest dropping to the floor, pelvis tucking under! This is doing no good to your body! 1. Heels never raise off the floor. Sit back into your squat and drive up through the heels. 2. Depth is important to activate the Glutes, sink until thighs are parallel to the ground. Any lower and your pelvis will try to tuck under and cause an un-neutral spine. 3. First thing you lift is the chest on your drive back up. JACKIE BOWEN! Great performance so far always progressing, always moving forward and recently becoming more dedicated to lose a few inches! At the start of 2016 we set a goal.
