What Budget?
Don’t let them get away with it. The Tories at County are cooking up another brutal budget for Northumberland and they don’t want you to know about it. After a decade of austerity they’ve snuck out a consultation on yet more cuts in a week when most people’s minds are a million miles from local politics. If you did happen to notice it they’ve buried even more eye watering cuts in the next few years. Would anyone believe there’s an election coming up and cuts aren’t popular? They’re hiding behind COVID to cover their backs as they swing the Axe. But remember the government saying that councils would get what they need? And worst of all they want you to tell them where to slash services. What a choice to make this Christmas, worse services for your granny or a more difficult start in life for your children?
