🎅8 years ago I decided to send Christmas cards to random addresses around the world, since then it’s become a tradition.

🎅In a turbulent world, it’s a hope that it may spread joy and happiness.

🎅This year is no different and the cards will be going to every continent around the globe!

Parent speaks out over daughter's suffering at school after toilet rule change 28/11/2023

🏫 The below policy at Tottington High School has been brought to the attention of Cllr Iain Gartside and myself.

Iain and I are deeply concerned that students are being required to wear black wristbands whilst menstruating in order to use the toilet during lesson time.

We have raised this with the school and have been informed the policy is under review, it is our belief that the policy should be removed immediately.

Upon receiving further information, we will issue an update.

Parent speaks out over daughter's suffering at school after toilet rule change A parent of a child at a borough school has spoken of how her child has suffered as a result of a new rule restricting pupils’ usage of toilets.

🇱🇻Today is Latvian Independence Day and celebrates 105 years since they were founded as a country.

🇱🇻So today on Cann Street, we have been invited a little bit of Latvia in and wish everyone a very Happy Independence Day!

Love you lots!

🌻This weekend Jo and I attended the brilliant Strictly Best Foot Forward for Bury Hospice.

🕺Congratulations to Luis from my office and his partner Artjoms who both won their individual groups!

🪩The annual competition is organised by Deborah Lisle and Viv Pascoe and sees 18 novice dancers competing to raise money for our fantastic hospice.

👏This year the competition raised over £40,000, well done to all competitors, teachers and organisers for your efforts in raising an amazing amount of money!

It was an honour to attend the Remembrance service in Tottington today.

It was fantastic to see so many people there paying their respects.

We will remember them.

🇬🇧Today at 11am we pause for 2 minutes in our busy lives to remember and reflect on the sacrifices of those who have given their lives for our freedom, such as my Great Grandfather, Private Edward Wells, pictured here in the middle, of the Manchester Regiment who is buried in Malta.

🇬🇧We give thanks for their services and to the service of all those who have served and continue to serve our country.

🇬🇧Never forgotten.

🇬🇧Ahead of this year’s Remembrance Period, I have been out in Tottington today putting up our lamppost poppies.

🇬🇧I will be out in Walshaw and Affetside later this week, when I have more cable ties!

🇬🇧We always remember those heroes who went before us in Tottington, Walshaw and Affetside and this year will be no different when we pause to commemorate their sacrifices.

🇬🇧I will also be in the Millgate again this year selling poppies for the Royal British Legion, please pop along to get yours and give as much as you can for an amazing charity.

🗣️ Fantastic to be out and about in Tottington and Walshaw today speaking with residents.

😡 A lot of disappointment and anger that Walshaw is still in Places for Everyone following Labour commitments that it had been removed.

🌳 I will continue to fight to protect our greenbelt and withdraw Bury Council from Places for Everyone!

05/10/2023

🌳Last night your two Tottington Conservative Councillors attended the Overview and Scrutiny meeting on Places for Everyone.

🌳I was shocked to still see the Walshaw site in the plans due to claims from Elton Labour last year at the local elections, that Cllr Morris after voting in favour of destroying our greenbelt had successfully campaigned to take it out of the plans. A copy of the leaflet is below this post.

🥀I asked the Leader of the Council to confirm that Bury Labour had lied to the electorate last May, I’ll leave you to decide whether he admits they did from his response.

🥀Once again Bury Labour blame everyone except themselves for their failings!

🚦Update on temporary lights on Turton Road

🗣️As promised, yesterday I raised the matter of the temporary lights on Turton Road at the Cabinet Meeting of Bury Council.

🚦I was informed that investigation works are currently underway as to ascertain the reason for the road slippage.

🗣️I have been told these investigations will be finished by the end of October, following this I will receive an update as to when the road will be repaired and the lights removed.

🚦Although it is disappointing that this is not happening as quickly as I and other residents would like, I am pleased that after chasing this matter for many weeks and months, the council are now taking notice of the disruption.

30/08/2023

🤝Tomorrow I will be meeting with the new Chief Executive of Bury Council for a walk around Tottington Ward to highlight local issues.

🗣️If you have anything which you would like me to raise, please let me know below or email me on [email protected]

30/08/2023

🗣️ Today I’m holding my surgery at St Francis House on Hebburn Drive in Brandlesholme.

⏰ I’m here until 6, so if you have any issues or would just like a chat, please pop down and see me.
