Athlete - Wires 🎶 https://www.instagram.com/reel/CjdJhNioHgB/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= (follow link to watch with sound) ⬆️ This song is written about a baby in Neonatal extra care, it’s been in my head since that first journey between the delivery suite and Neonatal unit on 16th June. The words resonate, and it’s the music I run the fastest too, because I can still feel the urgency and instinct. The lyrics are parallel to some of our own experiences, except, the baby this song was written about fortunately survived 🤍 Most babies do get to go home from the NICU, it’s so tragic that Ronnie didn’t. But Ronnie’s fundraising helps those babies in both circumstances; The fundraising support has recently funded the unit a Linear probe, to enable scans the Kidneys/bowels/hips and Lungs. Diagnosing acute lung conditions, or serious bowel conditions in extreme preterm babies, and kidney and hip abnormalities in babies who are not well enough to travel to the Ultrasound department. Athlete - Wires (lyrics) “You got wires, going in You got wires, coming out of your skin You got tears, making tracks I got tears, that are scared of the facts Running, down corridors through, automatic doors Got to get to you, got to see this through I see hope is here, in a plastic box I've seen christmas lights, reflect in your eyes You got wires, going in You got wires, coming out of your skin There's dry blood, on your wrist Your dry blood on my fingertip Running, down corridoors through, automatic doors Got to get to you, got to see this through First night of your life, curled up on your own Looking at you now, you would never know”

Ronnie’s heartbeat, an invaluable keepsake. His heartbeat was so consistent and so strong throughout pregnancy and labour; I remember the immense pride I felt looking at his CTG trace in our 6 week follow up appointment, he was so resilient. He gave it his best shot 🤍🕊
