There is one last opportunity for 5-8 year old children to take part in Bold Kids brain scanning study.
Who can take part?
They are looking for 5-8 year old children with a congenital upper limb difference who have one hand which cannot perform a pincer grip – if you are unsure whether or not your child is eligible please get in touch! Please contact Laura on [email protected]
Our ultimate goal is to settle those initial fears, and reassure parents, it's okay - your child will be unstoppable!
“It has been almost 4 years since we found out about Kinsley’s “nub” & let me tell ya, I wish I had a glimpse into the future so I could see where she is at, now & tell my younger, terrified self— she is going to amaze you EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.. she is absolutely perfect— and she is going to adore her difference & show it off to the world. Honestly, I wouldn’t change a single thing if I could, because she is exactly what I described and more. We also became a part of the best family, 4 years ago.. the Lucky Fin Family 🧡
That being said, December is such an exciting time for our family— the holidays, family time, and we get our ANNUAL LFP ORNAMENTS!!!
We love our LFP ornaments! I have been collecting them so I can give them to Kins some day, so she can display them on a christmas tree of her own ❤️💚
Here is our newest one! 🧸” -Ashley

This summer, we are continuing to seek volunteers (both adults and children aged 5.5-8.5 born with an upper limb difference!) for our fMRI study! Our study investigates how the body is represented in the brain, and will take no more than a few hours to complete in either London or Cambridge.
We will cover the cost of transport, participants will be compensated for their time, and for each participant, we will give a donation to either Reach - helping children with upper limb difference live life without limitor LimbBo Foundation UK.
We are nearing the end of our study and have just a few months left, so we would love your help! Please share our post to help us find our last few BOLDKids and BOLD Adults :).
Can you help us finish our brain scanning project? We are looking for our final three volunteers.
We are looking for 5-8 year old children with an upper limb difference to visit us in Cambridge to help us learn more about how the brain adapts to limb differences.
Taking part is a great experience for your child, and is fun introduction to what the brain looks like. You will receive a picture of your brain to take home.
If you are interested in finding out more drop us a message or contact us on 07833 968229

Here at BOLDkids we work with two very special charities Reach - for children with upper limb difference and LimbBo Foundation - Official Limb Difference Community Page! Both charities strive to raise awareness all year round and provide lots of opportunities throughout the year for families to meet up.
Our work would not be possible without the support of these two wonderful charities, we are incredibly grateful for all that they do!
