Little bit of something different this weekend… Rebecca Brereton - Art and I held a soundbath for the LRF team at The Ranch 💕

Most of the team were soundbath newbies and it was an absolute pleasure to introduce them to this powerful healing modality. Such a huge honour to hold space for such an amazing group, and great to witness so many going deep with their healing. Magic!

If you’re wondering about soundbaths, Studio 6 at Scott Hall Mills, Leeds is your place… we host the comfiest soundbaths in Leeds with our gorgeous colourful beds (and hot water bottles when it’s chilly)

You’ll find a few different soundbaths a month - some including gongs, some including Reiki and some just crystal bowls and percussion instruments.

You can also book in for 1:2:1 or small group soundbaths for just yourself, you and your loved one, or you and up to four friends.

You can even get a 1:2:1 reiki and sound combo.

Welcome to anyone who's new here - I'm glad you popped by 💕

I'm Eva and I started Moonhive at the end of 2019/beginning of 2020 - great time to start a business, eh!? 🤣 But I'm still here!

I run my business from Studio 6 at Scott Hall Mills, Leeds a beautiful spot that I share with Rebecca Brereton - Art who is an incredible art therapist, energy healer and shamanic practitioner. Together and separately, we offer a whole host of treatments and services.

Alongside Reiki and Sound treatments, my main passion is helping people and their loved ones at end of life. In my role as a soul doula, I'm making connections in the community and helping people to talk about death and dying a little bit more.

Every month, I spend a morning volunteering at my friend Sammie’s flower farm.

What a day we had today!

For the first five minutes, I just stood and stared at all the amazing colours - the flower garden absolutely teeming with life! So breathtakingly beautiful!

Being outdoors is such a salve for the soul - that’s why we love being at Studio 6 at Scott Hall Mills, Leeds so much - being in the natural light and observing the seasons through the window. It’s absolutely magical - whatever the time of year.

✨ Why Me!? ✨

I think when it comes to choosing a teacher, we instinctively know who we want, and don’t want, in that role. So you likely already know whether or not you’d like to do your Reiki training with me 🤩🤪

However, of you’re still on the fence about Reiki, or about having me as your teacher, here are some reasons which may help you to make a decision either way.

✨ I understand that not everyone learns in the same way. This is why I provide not only a manual and guidance during the training course, but also online video guidance that you will have lifetime access too.

✨ I run regular Reiki events including Reiki Shares, Retreats and Healing Circles, so that your learning and growth can continue long after your training course.

✨ I’ve been working with Reiki since 2018 and am dedicated to a continued learning, which often means we’re learning together and from each other.

✨ I passionately believe that Reiki is a valuable tool we can use to navigate difficulties and to broaden our spirituality. To me, Reiki is pure love and who would t agree with the fact that we need more love in the world.

As I said at the beginning of the post, you will probably know whether or not you want to do your Reiki training with me. If you don’t, that absolutely fine - find a teacher that resonates more. But if Reiki is calling you (or anything else for that matter) answer the call… it’s your destiny 🤪🥰

I have one spot left on my next Level 1 course on Saturday 27th July and a few spots left for Level 2 on Saturday 2nd August. If you know, you know!

✨ Sound Baths ✨

Just in case you haven’t seen my stories lately, you might want to know that we’ve upgraded our soundbaths here at 🤩

From tonight, instead of laying on a yoga mat/the floor you’ll be laying on these comfy, cosy, delightful floor beds. How amazing!?!

I can’t think of anything better!

There are plenty of events to choose from - Double Reiki Soundbaths with myself and Becky Reiki Gong Baths with myself and Boshka and small group Reiki and Storytime soundbath with myself 💕

We can also arrange private sessions - 1:2:1 or groups of up to 8! An ideal way to celebrate a birthday or treat your friends of colleagues.

✨ Fox at 400 ✨

This week marks the 400th birthday of George Fox, the founder of the Quakers, otherwise known as the Religious Society of Friends.

I’m still pretty new to Quakerism having been attending meetings for worship for just a couple of years, but I didn’t feel like I could let the occasion pass without saying something about it.

Throughout history, Quakers have stood for equality and have been instrumental in some pretty powerful changes. It feels like I’m always learning about cool people in history, and then realising that they were Quakers. I like their vibe and aspire to be more in line with their values.

If you’re reading this, it may surprise you when I say I’m not a Christian. Although I can handle ‘God language’ these days (it used to make me feel really cross!) my personal belief is that of a universal source energy - some people call that God, and that’s okay - I know what they’re talking about. Each of us is an expression of that source energy - that light.

Faith, in its many forms, has meant such a lot to me since I started my spiritual journey, so shout out to George Fox - I’m looking forward to learning more about the Quakers and I’m proud to be a blossoming part of their community.

✨ Study ✨

Towards the end of the month and into next, I’m excited to be doing some more death doula study with Living Well Dying Well which will enable me to become a member of End of Life Doula UK. I’m really excited and have taken unpaid leave from my day job so that I can really make the most of it.

Preparing for the course has helped me reflect on how I learn, and the things I find frustrating when it comes to study.

I love peoples stories and it’s really important to me that I hear first hand accounts. References and statistics don’t float my boat, tangible accounts do. I like to experience and feel for myself 🙂

I also like things to look at - I’m a fan of a workbook/manual but I sometimes find it difficult to retain the information written in them.

I’m a visual learner so if the teachings don’t paint a picture, I like to be shown.

The understanding of how I learn has heavily influenced the way I teach - my Reiki trainings are very experiential - a day of discussion, sharing, and finding our way.

On my trainings you get a manual of the teachings to refer back to, but you’ll also get online videos to go over some bits again - not by way of teaching you a right way, just as something to refer to if you’re a little unsure on the path to finding your own way.

My students find it really helpful.

✨ Hello ✨

It feels like it’s been a little while - maybe you’ve noticed, maybe you haven’t 😂

Truth be told, I’ve been really trying to curb my social media usage while I re-establish some healthy practices. I don’t know about you, but I sometimes get lost in the online world.

The good news is, I feel much better for the break and I’m using my time wisely!

I’ve got a healthy amount of time off from the ‘other’ job coming up, so I’m looking forward to getting into a routine that works for me, and my business. It’s bloody hard work doing a stressful creative-on-demand job, running a business, and trying to do life all at the same time - I’m sure some of you can relate!!

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks to all of you who support me and my business, and to let you know that I have exciting plans in the pipeline!

✨ Resilience ✨

Last night, myself and Boshka had to cancel our reiki gong bath at the very last minute.

When we arrived at the studio, there was a drum and bass event happening, very loudly, nearby.

There was no way that we could continue - it wasn’t very zen 😂

The thing with running your own business is that you have to be adaptable - s**t happens… sometimes it’s out of your control and sometimes it’s awkward.

Thankfully, everyone understood - even the people who didn’t get the email we send an hour before and turned up all ready to get some reiki and sound healing. Awful 😢

Anyway… I’m really glad that, last night, I had the resilience to be able to have difficult conversation with the event organisers and to deal with potentially disgruntled clients. Luckily, everyone involved was incredibly nice and I ended the night with a lovely gin.

I haven’t always been able to be so calm in stressful situations, and sometimes it’s a bit hit and miss, so it feels that it’s important to acknowledge when things have gone well, even when they haven’t 😂

Yesterday, I had the absolute pleasure of speaking to on her podcast ‘The Fit and Feminist Podcast’

Myself, Lauren and Nic (palliative Occupational Therapist) spoke about death, dying, bereavement, regrets, beliefs, and loads of other things. We had so much to say that there may even be a part two at some point!

Such a huge part of this work is getting people talking and breaking the taboo around this subject. It’s something I feel really strongly about and thankfully I’m a talker, so I reckon I’m pretty good at it 😂

After a wonderful week in Glastonbury, I'm back and ALMOST raring to go! I'll be honest though - this beautiful sunshine is giving me all the lazy cat feels, and I could do with another few days of doing nothing in the sun ☀️

✨ Thursday - I have a couple of slots left for 1:2:1's - 3pm and 4.30/5pm. Next available day is Tuesday 2nd July.

✨ Friday - This month's Talk it to Death at Roundhay Quaker Meeting House on Street Lane 7-8pm. This is a free event (although donations towards costs are welcomed) and is open to anyone who is curious about discussing death, dying an bereavement.

✨ Sunday - Gathering with at - all inclusive community chat 6-7.30pm. This will be the last Gathering ahead of a summer break so make sure you don't miss out on this free nourishing event.

Limited to 5 people, these sessions are intimate and a great way to receive healing without paying the price of a 1:2:1
