The thought of using a loan shark this Summer may be tempting but you must remember, these lenders are not your friends, they prey on vulnerable people and are doing untold damage to many communities.

Illegal money lenders don’t want people to be able to pay back their debt. They want them permanently indebted. Before you turn to illegal money lenders, make yourself aware of the finance support available, and do not suffer in silence, there’s always a way out!

This Vauxhall was stopped by Road Policing Interceptors from Sprucefield last night in the Sion Mills area, the vehicle was bearing a registration number relating to another vehicle of a similar make & model.

Checks showed that this vehicle did not appear to have a valid policy of insurance in force. The Vehicle Test Certificate (MOT) had also expired some considerable time ago.

A check of the vehicle revealed serious structural defects, should the vehicle had been presented for a test it would have failed.

The driver who resided outside of UK jurisdiction was arrested on Suspicion of No Insurance, using a vehicle in a dangerous condition, no VTC and Fraudulent use of a vehicle registration mark. They have been charged to appear in a local Court in the near future.

The vehicle was seized and also had a Prohibition notice placed on it meaning that when/if it is collected it cannot be driven until the relevant repairs/defects have been rectified.

Yesterday evening, our West Tyrone neighbourhood policing team were patrolling the Dromore area when they intercepted a vehicle which was travelling on the wrong side of the road towards a packed Main Street. The vehicle had veered into the path of an oncoming vehicle, narrowly avoiding a head on collision.

Upon speaking with the driver, it quickly became apparent to the officers that the driver was in no fit state to be driving. After failing a roadside breath test, the driver was arrested for a number of offences including Driving with excess alcohol, Careless driving and Using a handheld mobile device whilst driving.

If you thought that was enough, further enquiries revealed the driver had No licence and No insurance. After spending the night in custody, a day in court awaits for the individual involved.

Folks, the message could not be clearer, NEVER, EVER, DRINK and DRIVE! We are 100% committed to making our roads safer!

A child can be groomed online by someone they know or by a stranger they’ve just met.

Online groomers may hide who they are by sending photos or videos of other people. They will share common interests, give gifts, and say all the right things to win their trust.

It's not easy for a child to tell if someone is genuine or not.
