Approaching SID - from the passenger seat
Thank you for all of your comments and observations in relation to the deployment of SID, our Speed Indicator Device. We will try and get round as many of the locations suggested as possible. The data shows that there was a statistically significant reduction in the average speed along that particular stretch of road during the period of deployment. But there were vehicles travelling in excess of the legal limit and details (including peak times of the day) can be used to inform where and when we deploy the LASER or ask our colleagues in Roads Policing for some assistance. After a quick turnaround SID is back out on duty.

Is the road ahead clear?
Is the road ahead clear? Whether you are a driver, motorcyclist, a pedestrian or a cyclist, we all share the roads and the responsibility for road safety. Cyclists, runners and pedestrians - remember to wear something bright and reflective so you are more visible to other road users in low light conditions. We also want to encourage all motorists to be vigilant and be on the lookout for more vulnerable road users to reduce the chances of a collision. Erne West Neighbourhood team.

Erne West breath testing checkpoints
Erne West neighbourhood team have been conducting regular authorised breath testing checkpoints on rural roads both day and night. We have detected drink-drivers both during the day and the night and whilst those individuals are very much in the minority, there are always those few who choose to drive whilst under the influence of drink or drugs and cause risk to the rest of us. Our aim is to make the roads safer for everyone and we thank you for your help with this and for your patience at these checkpoints. You play an important part in this - if you see a car driving erratically, no matter where it is, phone it in on 999 and we will treat it as an emergency. If you know someone who regularly gets behind the wheel whilst intoxicated, we would ask you to speak to your local neighbourhood officer to just make them aware. You might just save a life.
