What a glorious feeling..!
This one’s for you Phyllis M. Reding
And breath...
2nd of 3 little cutie bees
Ok so it’s getting harder to keep up with my bee a day. The rains and now rising heat mean the gardens need my attention (not to mention kittens, preserving what feels like 100kgs of plums and Earthship work). Sooo, I’ve made the decision to still do 100 hundred bees but cut myself some slack and not make it a bee every day. Hope you still enjoy them when they pop up 💕🐝💕
Sorry for the silence, it’s been a full week. Some of it spent picking and making jam with the 15kgs of plums from our plum tree (and that was only half picked). It felt only right to say thank you ma’am for all our plum jam - without you there’d be none 👏🐝👏
A quarter of the way through and still going!
If you’ve been enjoying seeing all the bees would be kind if you’d share your favourite with your friends. Let’s create a buzz for bees # # #
The caper flowers are out and the bees are loving it. Unfinished sketch, sorry!
Another foil bee, this time from a chocolate wrapper 😋
Wine foil bee, well it is Saturday 😛
Busy day today getting used to my e-spinner that arrived today. So here’s a blast from the past - a honey from Feb 2020
This little honey bee has her own flower garden aboard
Millions of bees are dying and nature is being devastated. Sign to call for a strong law to bring back nature, so bees can thrive.

Why is roundup still available when it’s known to harm bees and cause cancer? Weeds are just plants in places we don’t want them. Some, like the dandelion pictured, even have health benefits. Isn’t it time we learned to love our weeds and live in peace with them?
A cheeky little girl
I love working in pastels, the colors are so rich and vibrant, do you think it suits the subjects- flowers and bees?!
No time for bee painting today so here’s one I made earlier (in true Blue Peter speak!).
This is the amazing Carpenter Bee that we first met at the cortijo, where we were today.
Our cortijo organic gardens are a haven for bees - do you remember the video of the wisteria last month that was buzzing with these beauties?
Day 14 of one hundred bees and I thought I’d show you this honeybee and freesia mándala design. Created a few years ago it’s one of 6 designs used for cushion covers and tea towels.
triskaidekaphobia bee, are you superstitious about her number? In the west the fear of the number 13 is a thing, but in China its number 4 that’s most scarey and in Japan number 9.
Star spangled queen bee
Ok a little detour into felt tip pens and knitting - what do bees do when they’re taking a break?!
Simply bee - hope you’re having a bumbly bank holiday
A bit of Sunday fun
Day 8 of one hundred bees and I’d like to introduce you to this lil buff tailed bumble bee. Actually she’s a queen because of her buff tailed behind. The largest of all the bumble bees, the workers often get mistaken for white tailed bumbles because their tails are mainly white - figures ;-)
Strawberries can pollinate themselves, but if pollinated by bees they are heavier and redder and taste better, as well as lasting longer (published in Nature magazine). So thank you again bees for being natures tireless little stars
Brussels sprouts - you either love ‘em or hate ‘em - but would Christmas be the same without them?! What way do you lean? I for one love ‘em so thank you bees for our sprouts
Although we associate bees with flowers, the end result of all that bee buziness is our food. One of the most used bulb vegetables in the world is garlic. With numerous health benefits coming mostly from the allicin it contains, a small amount of garlic regularly can help reduce cholesterol and blood pressure, reduce the risk of blood clots, help treat bronchitis, asthma and coughs. It has antimicrobial properties and helps boost our immune systems. So thank you bees and other pollinators for garlic.
