Our safari experience was authentic, unspoilt and whilst we didn’t immediately see the animals in fact we searched for hours and hours each day that helped me realise that the more authentic safari experiences are about the search as much as the sightings!

20 minutes from San Jose International Airport was our whistle-stop home last night, the Hotel Grano de Oro, in the city of Alajuela. This morning we head east towards the Caribbean coast, the adventure begins! It’s 6am… let’s go!!
