1 week to go I am running for RASASC - Cheshire and Merseyside I am undertaking my biggest challenge yet ! The The Montane Lakeland 50 & 100 50 miler on the 27th July , with over 10000 foot of elevation and night navigational. Am I terrified , yes !!! As a Survivor of Sexual Abuse , I was terrified a lot , especially when I reported to the police . I was lucky enough to have the support of , and the amazing ISVA that worked there . I can honestly say it was the hardest time of my life , and without them I wouldn’t be here now . Because of them I felt less terrified, the more money I raise the more we can help others in the same position. The The R**e and Sexual Abuse Support Centre aims to be a Centre of Excellence in the provision and delivery of services to individuals and families who have been affected by sexual violence.

RASASC is a registered charity which was established in 1995 to provide advice, support and counselling to people who have been affected by sexual violence. We offer support to men, women, children and young people of any age.

I will also be donating £100 to Epic Kidz is a registered charity , funded by Epic Events and Lakeland 100 charity makes donations to a wide range of community based causes , helping children .

We are in sunny St Helens today getting involved in the Halton & St Helens Voluntary and Community Action Mental Health Alliance event 🩵 we are networking and meeting lots of services and local people as we set to improve and cater to mental health needs in the area! Come and say hello! 👋🏼

Today we attended a session delivered by Charmaine Abdul-Karim the director of Pride of Romany as part of STADA's Whole Housing Approach Pilot in Cheshire East. 👍 The session helped us understand the heritage of the British Romany community and we are looking forward to speaking more with Charmaine about the barriers her community faces relating to sexual violence. 💜

Yesterday we attended the Children, Young People and Families Alliance Networking Event hosted by Cheshire West Voluntary Action. It was a brilliant afternoon meeting with other childrens’ organisations in the area! It’s so important for us to connect with other professionals so they are aware of what we can do for young people who disclose r**e or sexual abuse 💜

R**e Crisis England & Wales have started a petition to ask UK Political Parties to commit to continue funding R**e Crisis Centres past March 2025 - no party has pledged this in their manifesto yet 😬

We are hosting a Coffee & Chat morning with Kate Tomlinson from Cheshire Police next week. ☕She is really keen to hear from survivors about their own experiences and thoughts about the Police investigation process. 🗣
