TV food issues reporter Kate Quilton joins LACA Main Event line-up.

Following the late withdrawal of full-time GP and best-selling author Dr Amir Khan from the conference programme at LACA’s Main Event (July 3-4), television presenter and journalist Kate Quilton has stepped up to take the keynote session slot.

The 40-year-old is best known for presenting a number of Channel 4 television series, including Food Unwrapped since 2012, with co-presenter Jimmy Doherty.

She will be calling on her knowledge and experience to address the school meals audience on Thursday, July 4 at 3.45pm.

LACA is delighted to announce that Strictly Come Dancing head judge and free school meals advocate Shirley Ballas will be one of the speakers at the upcoming LACA Main Event, which is taking place on 3-4 July at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole.

Shirley Ballas will discuss the importance of free school meals at this year’s LACA Main Event on Wednesday 3rd July at 4.10pm. She will join Michael Hales MIH, the forum chair, in a conversation about the vital need school food provision and the impact on children's lives. To celebrate the final day of Public Sector Catering Week, a Guide to Handling Allergens has been published to help caterers and chefs stay allergen aware when preparing food.

The guide has been produced by Public Sector Catering who called on the expertise of The Russell Partnership and Hospitality Allergen Support UK (HASUK) for the content.
