Attention!!!

Tuesday, 9th of July : We'll be hosting the Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting early on Tuesday. Because of this, our doors will open to the public at 9:30 AM instead of our usual time.

Thursday, 11th of July: We'll be closed for the day due to a planned power outage for an electrical cabinet replacement. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We'll be back to our regular hours on Friday, 12th of July at 8 AM, ready to serve up all your favourite treats!

**It's time for Gelato Festival! **

Our gelato machine is finally up and running, and after months of testing recipes, we're thrilled to be serving authentic Sicilian gelato!

To celebrate this exciting moment, we're hosting a Gelato Festival this Saturday at the bakery from 11am to 3pm. It's the perfect chance to stop by, try out our delicious gelato flavours, and let us know what you think!

For this special occasion, my two young nieces, Marta and Alessia, who are visiting from Sicily, will be lending a hand (and maybe whipping up some granita too!) They'll be serving gelato at the counter, and while they might be a bit shy, they have the biggest smiles! Please come out and show them your support!

Attention coffee lovers! โ˜•๏ธ

Just a heads up that our beloved coffee machine will be taking a quick pit stop for a checkup today, between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM. While it's getting its temperature taken and filters checked, we won't be able to serve up any of our coffee.

We know this might be a shock to your system, but we promise it's for the greater good (and even better coffee in the future!). We'll be back brewing as usual by 10:00 am, so come see us then for your caffeine fix.

In the meantime, feel free to browse our selection of pastries, or other goodies to keep your energy up. We appreciate your understanding!

Celebrating Christmas... in 2024?!

Let's just say December was a whirlwind of panettone, pastries, and bread galore! We barely had time to blink, let alone throw a Christmas party. So, what did we do? We decided to skip the line and jump straight to 2024!

Last night, our amazing team threw a Christmas bash for the ages, complete with festive cheer, delicious homemade pizza (of course!), and a dash of time travel magic (okay, maybe it was just Prosecco...). We even rang in the New Year a little early, showering each other with confetti and good wishes for 2025. โœจ

It's moments like this that remind us why we love what we do. Creating joy through our baked goods is one thing, but seeing the happiness on our team's faces as they celebrate togetherโ€ฆ that's pure magic.

And it wouldn't be possible without YOU, our wonderful customers! Your support has helped us grow, and we couldn't ask for a better place to work, surrounded by such amazing people.

We can't believe it's already been 10 months since we brought a little slice of Sicily to your beautiful town! It's been a whirlwind journey, growing from just 2 passionate bakers to a bustling team of 17 (and still growing!). We've learned, we've laughed, we've kneaded (a LOT), and through it all, your unwavering support has fueled our love for sharing authentic Sicilian flavors with Dorset.

Of course, it hasn't all been sunshine and flour sacks. โ˜€๏ธ Baking, as they say, is a science, and sometimes even the slightest tweak can throw off the whole equation. Like that high-temperature fiasco in the kitchen this New Year, or (ahem) today's... less-than-stellar focaccia attempt. Baking is a constant dance of adjustments and adaptations, and we wouldn't have it any other way! It keeps us on our toes, pushing boundaries, and always striving to perfect every crust, every crumb, every cannoli filling. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

But here's the thing: despite the occasional burnt batch or lopsided pastry, we wouldn't trade this journey for anything. You, our amazing Poundbury family, have welcomed us with open arms and hungry hearts. Your smiles with every bite, your stories shared over coffee, your patience during our inevitable hiccups โ€“ these are the true rewards that make all the sweat and flour dust worth it.

Hello, dear friends and valued customers,

I hope this message finds you all well. I wanted to take a moment to share some important news with you regarding our Aperitivo Evenings.

As some of you may know, we recently made an attempt to reopen our doors in the evenings to provide you with those delightful Aperitivo moments we all love. It's been such a joy to see our wonderful patrons enjoy their evenings at our establishment.

However, life sometimes has other plans for us. I recently consulted with my doctor, who, in his infinite wisdom, has kindly advised me to take a step back and prioritize my health. It seems I've been running myself a bit ragged, and it's time to make some changes.

So, with a heavy heart, I must announce that I am temporarily suspending our Aperitivo Evenings until I am back in the pink of health. I know this may come as short notice, and I want to apologize from the bottom of my heart for any inconvenience this may cause. Your support and presence at these evenings mean the world to me, and I truly appreciate it.

Rest assured, I am already hard at work, exploring ways to find the help needed to continue offering you those enchanting Aperitivo Evenings in the near future. I promise to keep you updated as soon as we have some exciting news to share.

In the meantime, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your understanding, and for being a part of our wonderful community. Your support and well wishes mean everything to me, and I look forward to being back with you all soon.

Our Story

Opened by Angelo Fichera in 2019, Peppina serves up freshly made pizza, pasta and bread daily.

As a child Angelo was taught how to cook authentic Sicilian dishes by his grandmother Peppina, who became the inspiration behind his restaurant.

Now Angelo uses her techniques and recipes to create his signature food for workers and foodies in Swanage. The recipes are simple but effective and all the ingredients are fresh and flavourful.

From the pasta made from organic Sicilian flour to the pizza made with fresh sourdough and sold by the slice, you are guaranteed to get a rustic taste of Italy at Peppina.
