Just signed up for the MacMillan marathon hike!!! This life of sobriety is making me do crazy things 🤩🥳

Well, I bloody did it - first completely sober Christmas in about 26 years!! Feels amazing 🤩

There were 3 occasions where I had to really take a deep breath and talk myself through the strong urge but I got through.

Happy Christmas!! 🎄

The word ‘sober’ gets me thinking… it feels more final than saying ‘drink free’ or ‘alcohol free’ like it’s more of a commitment because sobriety is a way of life.

Yesterday was the first day that I actually felt good, good in my body and mind. I feel like it has taken 9 days to get through the haze and start appreciating the level and grounding feeling that comes from not imbibing.

My relationship with alcohol has been tumultuous at best and I often ask myself, why am I still bothering? I’d like to carve a new path and this is where I’m going to start.

Wanting to be a healthier version of me, physically and mentally ❤️

It’s so hard to make a change. I find a lot of comfort in my old routines but I am also feeling every one of my 41 years these days so I guess I can’t keep behaving the same and expecting to feel different.

Massage is not a luxury. We all need to look after our bodies to stay healthy, pain free and relaxed. Regular, monthly massage is a great way to maintain your health.
