Bazza Bee's Open Mic Jamboree

Every Thursday Bazza Bee's Open Mic Jamboree is at The Polka Hop for their weekly instalment of music madness!!

You can bring your own instrument or use the equipment on hand. We have a full set up for solos/bands!

You can play/sing/speak on your own, bring your mates and start a band, join in the jam with random people who you meet on the night!

It is a great place to get a feel for performing, brilliant crowd and very friendly!

Free drink for performing - Selected drinks only and tokens can only be used on Thursdays!

Get down early for a spot to play as they can fill up quickly!

Introducing The Polka Hop Lottery! A chance to win up to £30!! Pick a number and if your number gets pulled out the hat, you win!

Everyone is welcome to play or listen and drink great beer too!

As some of you may already be aware, due to circumstances beyond our control we are sadly unable to continue the jam at it's original venue.
I would like to say a massive thank you to Jon and everyone at The Harewood Arms for the last 6 years. Starting out as I did there running the jam, it is the continued support of the venue and the staff there (not forgetting the wider jam fam x) that have allowed the sessions to grow into the event it is today.

This being said it doesn't mean that it's the end of the road for our relationship with the Big Red Pub. I'll be still keeping in touch with them and organising other events if not so frequently for us to enjoy so please keep your eyes peeled and don't be shy about bobbing in and showing some love.

Without further a do, you are cordially invited to join us at Daz and Fi's for some sonic shenanigans from 7 this evening. All welcome, free pint for each performer. Big love 🐝 xx

Good morning Folks hope you're all well.
I'm afraid to announce that there will be no Jamboree this evening.
This is due to there being no venue to host it at with The Harewood Arms being shut still and our most recent haunt The Polka Hop having an other event booked in.

I gave thought to maybe finding a one-off host venue for the evening but to be honest with folk, I could do with the evening off.
The logistics involved in getting gear moved around and setting things up etc, coupled with the limited time I have to do it in due to working long work shifts and travelling in- between makes it a task that's left me a little burnt out.

It is a decision I've not made lightly as this would be the first time I've had to cancel (other than lockdown ) in the 6 or so years I've been running the night.

Hope people aren't put out by this, things will be up and running as per usual next week.

As some of you maybe aware, our usual haunt The Harewood Arms is undergoing refurbishment these next couple of weeks.

Fear not!!! Daz and Fiona have Kindly let us continue proceedings at their lovely little boozer just down the road. Join us for some sonic shenanigans Thursday evening at The Polka Hop.

As ever, all are welcome with a free pint for each performer. There'll be a drum kit, bass and electric guitar amps as well as a couple of mics. There's also room for whoever may wish to plug in an electro-acoustic guitar. There are instruments available to borrow if you are without so get yourselves down and come mess about!!!

We'll be starting around 7pm and finishing at 10:45 - this is a little earlier than usual due to the licensing at the venue. See you there folks!!! 🐝 X x

Last night was awesome folks! Top talent from start to finish and such a great vibe. Cheers to everyone that came down the Harewood , every single one of you that turn up are a massive part of the evening, making these nights what they are. Massive thanks guys!!!

Next week I'll be away with my band at a festival. Have no fear!!! The jam shall still be happening. In my stead, jamboree devotee and all round cool dude Ash will be there to set things up, him having helped me do so for some time and will be keeping an eye on things. I know he'll be in great company should he need the odd hand here and there and am greatful to him and all those experienced individuals who often offer guidance in such matters. 😊

Also... Somebody left a rucksack in the pub last night. I took it with me hoping to reunite it with it's owner last night after the jam but couldn't. Whoever it belongs to please get in touch with either myself or the pub!!!
