CALL FOR ARTISTS

The Lightproof Film Collective is looking to commission two artists from the Ottawa-Gatineau region to make new works on film. The successful applicants will receive $400.00 towards materials (film stock, processing/transfer), plus access to equipment, all owned individually by each member. In addition, successful candidates will have access to a wealth of information on the technical aspects of emulsion-based media through our knowledge sharing workshops, and the opportunity to exhibit your work.

With this modest commission, we encourage applicants to embrace the low-cost DIY ethos of experimental filmmaking. To apply, artists must provide a brief bio and CV based on their artistic experiences and a one-page cover letter expressing their ideas, potential contributions and goals they wish to achieve by receiving this commission from the Lightproof Film Collective.
