We came across this yesterday whilst attending to an elderly patient.

Fortunately in this instance we didn't need to access the form to give us guidance on whether to perform CPR or not but the instant benefit of this little scrap of paper inside a keysafe was huge.

DNR, DNAR or DNACPR forms are more commonly known as ReSPECT forms these days and they can (as long as they are written correctly) provide ambulance clinicians and other HCPs with a huge amount of information about that patient's wishes and ceiling of care, pmhx etc. https://www.resus.org.uk/respect/respect-healthcare-professionals

The issue we have some times is trying the find them in vast amounts of other health care related paperwork.

If you have an elderly relative who has a ReSPECT or DNAR form and a keysafe, absolutely 100% do this!!

In the instance the form was in a plastic wallet that was sellotaped to the inside of the kitchen cupboard.

Give it a share. You never know who it may help.
