We have been very quiet at Olistica Healing.

I am delighted to announce I am pregnant with a beautiful baby girl and therefore made the decision to step away and focus on us for a little while.

However we are still here and will be returning back to normal business early next year.

The Solar Plexus Chakra 💛

Chakra means “disk” or “wheel” and are the bodies energy centres. The centres of spinning energy each correspond to certain nerves and major organs. To function at their best, your chakras need to stay open, or balanced. If they are not, you may experience physical or emotional symptoms.

There are seven main chakra centres, although there are said to be many more but for this explanation, we will focus on one of the main seven. each are a different colour and relate to our physical and emotional body, and all play a key part of balancing our physical and emotional energy.

The Solar plexus chakra, located below your sternum and above your navel, governs the ego, personality and identity – made up of self-worth, self-respect, self-belief and personal empowerment... golden sunshine yellow, the solar plexus chakra lights your energy with warmth and self-confidence and gives us willpower and strength in identity.

Identifying a blocked solar plexus: This may present as being passive and inactive in life, with low confidence, self-belief and self-respect. You may allow others to treat you will a lack of respect. You may also see your life as a succession of disappointments and frustrations. Physical symptoms can be excessive weight, problems with liver, digestion, asthma and diabetes. An excess of energy in the solar plexus chakra will allow overreaction to situations, in an emotional way with associated stress levels.

Staying positive in today’s world 💜

Negative thoughts are easily programmed within our minds as it is easier to believe the negative rather than the positive don’t you think? It is not something we are aware of and becomes a nasty habit casting a shadow over our entire reality.

Studies show our brains actually change based on our thoughts and emotions, negative thinking patterns actually get wired into our brains and become the default. By learning to consciously change thought patterns, we can lower anxiety, ease depression, and train our brain to become more positive and calm.

During the day, bring your awareness into the present and know that you are perfectly alright regardless of anything else going on in the world. Take a long deep controlled breaths in and out. Try to do this for at least 3 minutes. You will feel yourself relax as you calm your own parasympathetic nervous system.

Take time each day to notice the good, there is always some good to be found in your world no matter what other situations are present.

Visualise how you would like to be, situations you want to create and really feel the positive emotions as if they are already in your reality. Your mind and body is constantly reacting to your thoughts whether it’s to your benefit or not. Use it for your good.

Many studies have linked being in nature and meditating with reduced depression and anxiety even faster healing times and greater work productivity so try to go for a walk every day and start a meditation practice.

Don't focus on social media negative drama and hype. Find sources that inspire and motivate you.

Surround yourself with positive people who bring out the best in you. We all soak up other people’s emotions through our energy as when you are with or near another your energy fields merge so make sure you are soaking up high energy from encouraging optimistic, and loving people. Limit your exposure to negative, demoralizing and unloving people as much as you can

The Center for Reiki Research has the best data regarding the most robust studies on the practice of Reiki and some of these studies have found that the most reported benefit of Reiki is that it reduces stress. Stress manifests itself is in the heart and circulation. Heart rate and blood pressure increase during stress and these responses are caused by increased activity of sympathetic nerves in the heart. Studies have shown that Reiki can reduce the stress response of the heart in both humans and animals.

Another frequently reported benefit of Reiki is that it reduces pain. Vitale and O’Connor study showed that Reiki greatly improved preoperative relaxation and reduced postoperative pain in women undergoing surgery. The 12 women in the Reiki group received a 30-minute treatment immediately before surgery and 24 hours and 48 hours post surgery. The 10 women in the control group received standard care only. The Reiki group reported significantly less anxiety pre-surgery and significantly less pain 24 hours post-surgery than the control group.

The Shore study showed that 30 people needing treatment for mild depression or stress, and who received hands on Reiki or distance Reiki once a week for six weeks, experienced significant reduction of mild depression and stress and the beneficial effects lasted for at least one year following treatment.

When we are children, we mostly have a natural perception that the world is good and safe, we tend to have a rose-coloured glasses perspective. As children grow and more and more challenges arise in our lives our awareness begins to change, and the reality of life’s imperfections and uncertainties become part of that awareness. During these most important years, mental and emotional health are being shaped and during that time our perceptions about the world either remain mostly positive or take on a negative outlook.

As humans mostly tend to believe the negative, we must learn to train our brain to have hope and to notice positive things even within a situation that is seemingly negative. we can cultivate a more positive and grateful mindset even during difficult times in our lives.

This doesn’t mean we are in denial, but an intentional practice to notice and always be aware of positive outcomes no matter how trying the situation helps us to keep things into perspective and to not spiral into depression.

Some of the best ways to do this are to keep a gratitude journal, everyday writing down three things you are grateful for. Tell someone you appreciate them and if you can and when you can do a random act of kindness. This can also be for yourself, it is not selfish to be kind to yourself too! 💜

A regular meditation practice help us become healthier, happier, and more self-aware as individuals, it is also beneficial in terms of our focus and relationships because of an increased ability to connect and support other people.
Keeping a regular practice can be life changing. And best of all, everyone can meditate.

As with everything you won’t be perfect at your practice straight away. Your mind may be full of chatter. The idea is not to try to force that chatter and thoughts away as this will make it harder. Just acknowledge those thoughts and then just let them drift away while you focus on your breath. You can visualise any thoughts that come into your mind just floating away on a cloud while you return to your breath. The more you practice the easier it will get. We are all so busy in life with problems coming at us from all angles, but we can all squeeze in 20 minutes a day. You can meditate upon waking, before sleep, in the bath, on the train, the opportunities to meditate are endless! Once you begin to feel the wonderful calming effect on your mind and body you will never look back.

One of the most beneficial outcomes of a regular meditation practice is a reduction in your stress levels. When you are stressed your body releases stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol, causing so many negative physiological effects. Chronic stress can have a catastrophic impact on your health, causing disrupted sleep, high blood pressure and impaired concentration. Practicing meditation affects the body in the direct opposite way that stress does, by triggering the body’s relaxation response. An added bonus is meditation is a powerful form of anxiety management that works by quieting the mind and reducing tension in your body.

The root chakra located at the spine base governs survival, including our identity, security, health and the very foundations of our lives. It is a deep red. It connects on a physical level to the adrenal glands, the bladder, kidneys, spine, the ‘fight or flight’ reaction and our instinct to survive.

Identifying a blocked root chakra: The root chakra is our security and associated with survival. When blocked you may have physical issues such as constipation, weight issues, back pain and fatigue and emotionally be short-tempered, have frustration, insecurity and anxiety. We can then identify that we need to start healing to release the blockage which can easily occur if you are going through a difficult time emotionally in your life.

Crystal Healing 💕

Although there is no direct scientific evidence yet to the mechanisms behind crystals’ healing powers, studies have shown each crystal's internal structure resonates at a certain frequency. Crystals work directly and indirectly. In the direct method, the vibrational frequency emanated by the crystals influences the targeted area directly, helping the restore balance to the area. In the indirect method the vibrational frequencies emanated by the crystal to stimulate body’s natural healing mechanisms, indirectly assisting in healing the targeted area.

It is thought that certain crystals help particular organs in the body due to crystals’ vibrational alignment with the specific vibration of that organ. When in balance, each organ emits its particular vibration, however, the injured/sick organ’s vibration would change from its healthy range. Crystals, due to their vast vibrational range, are believed to help ‘re-attune’ the organ to its normal healthy vibrational range, hence assisting in its healing.

The world-famous scientist Marcel Vogel discovered that crystals hold data and he developed the first liquid crystal displays and the magnetic coating for the IBM’s disc drive. Marcel Vogel was studying the man-plant communication in the 1970s, which led him to the discovery of the Vogel-cut crystal, which is an instrument for converting, storing, amplifying and cohering energies. Vogel found out that double terminated wands, cut in the same proportions as the pyramids of Egypt and the Tree of Life, are able to transmit energy that can be measured scientifically. He observed that when pointed at another person, the person’s thoughts and emotions were amplified, altering his/her state of consciousness.

Hey beautiful people 💕I don't know about you but sometimes I find it so hard to stay positive when I am being triggered by a person or a situation. Of course its great to be at the point in your spiritual journey where you don't get triggered at all but personally I find even if I have managed to get to that point it is almost impossible to stay there with all the current issues and emotions surrounding us and hey, we are only human after all. Here are three ways you can stay more positive and keep your energy high by being less reactive in difficult situations.

1) . If you feel angry and upset with someone, don't instantly react. Take a deep breath and slowly count to ten. By the time you reach ten, you will feel less triggered less negative and have a better response helping to prevent the problem escalating. Remember that person may be suffering too.

2) When you feel hurt or angry about someone’s behaviour towards you, don't jump to negative conclusions. Example: Think someone is purposely ignoring you because they didn't call? Maybe its possible they have actually just been too busy or genuinely forgot . When we observe situations instead of taking everything personally we see there are multiple scenarios of why a situation is the way it is therefor reducing misunderstandings and keeping negativity at bay.

3) If you feel overwhelmed or confused or pushed for an answer to something go for a walk and spend some time in nature. Sit for a while and take a little time for you! Take some lovely deep breaths. More often than not you will come back with a fresh perspective feeling a lot less overwhelmed.

There is still so much to smile and feel good about, sometimes we just need to remember how to get there 💜

One of the biggest steps in healing is to let go of the past as it can no longer serve you in your present by reliving this. This can also have a detrimental impact on our mental, physical and spiritual health.

To relieve the past is to remain in it with no ending.

In life EVERYTHING happens for your highest good, yes I said EVERYTHING, even when we cannot see how. This is one of those sayings that can really annoy us at times, but its true. Once we really believe this it gives us back our power and faith we are right where we are meant to be in this precise moment.

Pay homage to what the past taught you, how it made you grow as an individual and shaped you into the beautiful human you are today. Now as Buddah so wisely said its time to let it go and focus on your present. Focus on your present moment, gratitude and manifest a fulfilling, kind and loving tomorrow for yourself.
