Our tents are in a pretty secluded countryside spot. But we’re less than 10 minutes drive from Swanage and it’s gorgeous coastline.

Winter is a good time for seal spotting at Durlston – look out for two types along our coast – the larger Atlantic Grey Seal (pictured) and the smaller Common Harbour Seal. 🦭

We see mostly Grey seals at Durlston (look out for their heads which duck under the waves occasionally, buoys just float at the surface). Usually just 1 or 2, but sometimes up to 4-5 in number, and usually off Tilly Whim or in Durlston Bay. 🌊

Although they can be a bit of fright if you meet one whilst swimming (adult males reaching unto 3m in length) they’re harmless, just very inquisitive! 😄

It’s amazing what you can fit into a small space….. a perfect little hideaway for 2 with a king bed, en suite shower room, toasty wood burner and Nespresso machine. Oh and fresh farm milk in the fridge!

My very crude attempt at lagging pipes last night worked! I was expecting to have to defrost everything for a third day but calves all well fed this morning!
