At Bere Regis on Sunday at 11am, the Family Service will mark Sea Sunday, the day which many Christian churches set aside to remember and pray for seafarers and their families and give thanks for their lives and work.

If you go down to Holy Rood on Sunday afternoon you're sure of a big surprise as the teddy bears soar, plummet and bump! Putting the fun in fundraising; cream teas will be consumed. Don't miss it!

The summer of fun continues on 20th and 21st July at Chaldon Herring with coastal tractor & trailer rides from 2pm until 4pm.

On 28th July at 10.30am there will be a United Benefice service at God's Pocket, Chaldon Herring DT2 8DN. Revd Andy Pessoa, Chaplain at Bovington Camp, will preach.

Our three-week-old peregrine chicks have been ringed!

Yesterday, a small team led by Nigel Jones from the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) temporarily retrieved the chicks from their nestbox to weigh, ring and measure them. They also checked the s*x of the birds, confirming we have one female and three males.

Along with a small metal ring on their right leg, the chicks were given an orange ring on their left leg with a unique ID on it. This allows us the BTO to follow the secret lives of these amazing birds after they fledge the nest and contributes to the long-term protection of the species.

Join us this Saturday - St Aldhelm Pilgrimage

Bishop Karen is leading a short Dorset pilgrimage on St Aldhelm’s Day 25th May. She will be celebrating Holy Communion at St Aldhelm’s Chapel at 12 noon, following a walk from the National Trust Car Park (for Chapman’s Pool) just off Renscombe Road, Worth Matravers leaving at 11am. Pilgrims are invited to bring a picnic for after the service. If wet the Eucharist and picnic will take place inside Langton Matravers Church. Everyone is welcome, should churches wish to bring banners for the procession please do so. The walk is about 1 mile each way.

Last Sunday we said farewell to Revd. Sandra. Sandra has retired and everyone in the Benefice wishes her all the best for the future.

A great send off on Sunday gave everyone a chance to show how much they appreciated all that Sandra has done in the community over the years.
