Design and Development Engineering Apprentice - Britlift

This exciting position will include helping with the creation of 2D CAD drawings for arrangement, fabrication, and machining. It will also include helping with project management and procurement. You will be aiding with simple calculations to determine self-weights, and the design of test jigs.

** WELDER/FABRICATOR - FULL-TIME POSITION **

We are looking for a welder with fabrication experience to work as part of a small team reporting to the Lead Welder. The ideal candidate will be a competent MIG/MAG welder for batch assembly and welding of stock items. Working as part of a small team requires that the position will include a wide variety of duties; including, fettling, grinding, inspecting profiles and occasionally packing pallets, painting, helping to keep the workshop tidy.

Primarily production of items comprised of CHS sections and pre-cut profiles to a high degree of accuracy and consistency. Responsible for assembling, welding and then finishing to a high standard ready for painting.

When necessary, also work on custom projects alongside other members of staff. TIG and MMA welding experience advantageous, but not a requirement.

Overtime will be available on a semi regular basis (paid at 1.5 x standard rate) and a candidate with the flexibility and willingness to work overtime would be preferred.

Requirements: minimum of 18 months welding experience in a fabrication environment
Desirable: 3 years welding experience, ideally previously coded

Salary: £12.00-£14.00 per hour (experience dependant)

Britlift brings the weight Kier Infrastructure tasked UK-based Britlift to produce a bespoke lifting beam to add enough weight to its lifting operations in order to increase the maximum permitted windspeed at a coastal project site.

Today passed its DCO submission!

Britlift are looking for a welder with fabrication experience to work as part of a small team of 4 welder fabricators.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience backed by a welding qualification.
The welding and fabrication will typically be on a project basis, with no two projects the same. Therefore a good understanding of fabrication drawings will be valued. Consultation with the design team will be common, so strong communication skills will also be vital. Overtime will be available as projects dictate.
