Our Story

We never intended to open a shop, but fell in love with a house in the village of Corfe Castle, which came with a picture postcard shop space.

Originally used as a studio for my garden design business, it seemed a shame not to allow passers by to share the 17th century interior, complete with inglenook fireplace made from materials stolen (before our time!) from the castle.

So we created a shop and gallery that celebrates British independent makers, artists and craftspeople, as well as selling some well-known larger brands. And (given my garden design background) our product selection often reflects the beauty of plants, gardens and the stunning local countryside.

We pride ourselves on being different, and source interesting ranges of products from all over the country. We also work with many local artists/businesses and have around 20 suppliers from in and around the village itself; from Sarah who makes handmade natural decorations (from homegrown plants where possible); to Jim who turns our wooden lamp bases; and more widely known businesses such as Purbeck Candles who are based in the next village.

And ‘Seasons Green’?

I honestly thought I read the phrase in a book of poetry, but when I tried to find it again I couldn’t! It must have been a dream. Never mind, it sums us up perfectly.
