Walk of Witness 2024
Everyone is welcome to join ‘The Way of the Cross’ walk up Castle Hill - tomorrow- Good Friday. We will be leaving the square at 11am.
Please be aware the path is very muddy and slippery in places so wear sensible footwear and maybe take a walking stick if you have one.

The scaffolding is nearly up for the repairs to the church's pinnacles, pennant and church clock. These works are being undertaken as part of the Tower Stories project.

The Friends of St Michael’s Church have received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant of £247,843 for an exciting heritage project named The Tower Stories. Made possible by money raised by National Lottery players, the project focuses on restoring the pinnacles of the Church and building an important community project named The Tower Stories. Work on the Tower Stories project will start in September 2023 with building work on the Tower being undertaken January – July 2024.

St St. Michaels Church, Mere on Easter Sunday
Come along to the church to see a display of the angel photographs.
New for 2023 a Friends of St Michael's Book Stall. Situated in the back of the Friends area in church you can pick up a book for 50p. Donations gladly accepted. Look out for book club coffee mornings. £1 for a coffee and a book.

Taking the opportunity while the scaffolding is up in the nave for the woodworm treatment we are taking photos of the wooden angels up on high.

The church is almost ready for today’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.
The flower arrangers have again worked their magic decorating the church for the 10:30 am Harvest Festival service.
The Freedom Picnic was a wonderful event that finally went ahead on Monday.
We are sadly saying goodbye to Revd. Carol Green and wish her well in her new role as Team Rector Designate in the Haldon Mission Community.
We were privileged to be joined last night by the Bishop of Ramsbury, Andrew Rumsey, at the Blessing and Dedication Service for the new facilities. The new entrance can also be seen.
Small but perfectly formed installation enabling refreshments on site. Nearly there with all the works, yay!
Latest update to the church improvements. North Porch handrail is in and it's been installed with a shepherd's crook and a lift over mechanism, very clever, and the handles have been fitted to the doors. Looking good...
