I have just been informed of a scam which is going on in the Warrington area. The police l believe are aware and have a task group on it. Basically scammers are ringing to say that your bank details are compromised and to withdraw money at a travel agent in euros. They will then sort the matter out etc.Travel agencies have also been made aware about unusually large withdrawals. They seem as always to be targeting the most vulnerable.

Local officers have been out on Whitbarrow Road this afternoon carrying out speed enforcement, there were 7 activations

Pleased to say that as one of Warrington Borough Council representatives on the Fre Service Board, l am at the passing out day for newly qualified firefighters for the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service .
Great day so far, witnessed with the proud relatives and other councillors demonstrations of their fantastic skills.

Local officers are currently put and about on high visibility foot patrol around Lymm this evening, including checking on the toilets at Lymm Dam which unfortunately are starting to become regularly damaged

Then leave your tree outside on Saturday 13th January and the volunteers will collect and recycle it. Huge thanks to the many local companies and WBC who get involved each year.

Landline calls to 999 not being received in one area of Warrington LANDLINE calls to emergency services are not working in one area of Warrington.

We are aware of a technical issue affecting 999 calls from landlines in the Culceth area of Warrington. If you need to dial 999 please use a mobile phone. Normal service is expected to resume by 10:30.

There are no schedule collections on Sunday and Monday
