Just arrived, the finished photos of our new colour 'Salmon Leap' after the name of this charming thatched cottage that we supplied the limepaint for several years ago, and matched to patch in around the newly created dormer recently. Work carried out by Mark Davison at WeTurnUp.co.uk 🙂

Colour matching is one of the services we offer..this charming thatched cottage, 'Salmon Leap' in Fordingbridge has a bespoke Lime Earth Paints colour, weathering well since its' application by Mark Davison, who is carrying out the creation of a new dormer, and needs to match the rest of the house. He sent an off cut of pipe with the original paint on the reverse..and hey presto! From our library of over 750 colours going back over 20 years, we found the original samples sent to him from 2011...

Today we are 23 years old as a company !!...
And with a milestone 600 followers to mark this earth shattering event, I've decided to create an additional palette of 12 new colours over the coming months, with long term collaborator and shareholder Ptolemy Edwards BA(Hons) Fine Art, and conservator of this niche.

Just delivered the Natural Off White this morning for freshening up the Haddenham that our render was originally painted in back in 2015. Work the owner is generously doing to present the new owners with a pristine building, as it's already sold. Former Warrington Guardian property of the week. 🙂

Weathering back nicely; our colour matched paint after 10 years on the brick basement of the grade l listed Institute building, part of Manchester Art gallery, second time it has been recoated in 23 years...an alternative to a lime render, as the basement was originally very damp. 🙂

Thought this should be posted as we don't often get photos of Lime Earth Paint 'Aquablue' from our customers..so here is Aquablue with William Morris 'Snakeshead' forest green print wallpaper as an accent on the chimney breast, all onto new lime plastered and conserved original lime plaster walls. Pure limewash used for the lath and plaster ceiling. 🙂

Just had an order for Natural Off White confirmed by this building owner..tired of limewashing every couple of years, over Cambridge reds brickwork. These Bricks are extremely porous and soft, and many were replaced, bedded in lime mortar approximately four years ago. Many of the good surviving bricks still have traces of masonry paint on the surface, that wouldn't come off and so limewash flakes off in these areas too... looking forward to being able to post some after shots of this charming period property soon 🙂

Lime Earth Paint 'Natural Off White' over repaired lime plaster panels, on a grade II listed Arts and Crafts house (half timber framed half solid brick built) following some minor timber repairs carried out last summer. Port Sunlight Village, Wirral. 🙂
Perfectly breathable, and less soluble than pure limewash - putting the building owners' mind at rest, as he was concerned about any future streaking onto the fine diaper red brickwork below, as lime based washes dissolve away gradually, and can sometimes streak or redeposit. Lovely conservation area.

Lovely property in Cheltenham, one elevation at a time, being given three coats of Lime Earth Paint for longevity because of the size and cost of scaffolding to recoat.
As with limewash, our limepaint is slightly soluble and does 'dissolve' slowly over time, which would eventually lead to the substrate or paint (if different in colour) showing through.
We have been hand making our paint for over 20 years, and now have old customers coming back to us to recoat. One in Wincanton, after 16 years!! Which is a lot longer than we were anticipating or even hoping it could last between coats.
The colour in the final photograph is taken after the first coat of Natural Off White, a typical shade of many of the Regency buildings' stucco work in the area...photo provided courtesy of Jonathon Walker of eco decorators, based in Gloucester. 🙂

Just received this from a regular customer of our Lime Earth Paint, Clinton Pugh from Oxford, who designed this, his house which recently sold for about £4million. The foreground risers etc are Roussillon Ochre and the lime rendered building is pale Roussillon (one natural off white mixed with one Roussillon). He's more used to restaurant design, and used our paints on the Lemon Tree restaurant in Oxford, and two others also in Oxford which he owns. Just got his order for more Roussillon and Broadsands for his project in Devon. His daughter is bafta and oscar nominated actress Florence Pugh, for any film buffs amongst you. I like the design and clever use of our paint on this building. 🙂

What damp basements can become using imagination, hard work, and six and a half tonnes of standard 1:3 coarse haired and unhaired lime plaster with a final 1: 1 fine puttylime topcoat: silver sand with seived stonedust. Painted with Lime Earth Paints Natural off White.

Lime Earth Paints used in a Devon farmhouse; a blend of our colours, a favourite trick of Jonny Walker, who carried out the work and provided the photo, experienced using our paint. Closest standard colour would be Cotswold Byrne, A tilt of the cap to John Byrne who used to live in the Cotswolds but has now moved to Devon.
