Creating Adventures
Creating Adventures brings enrichment into the lives of adults with Autism and learning disabilities.
What a fabulous way to recognise and celebrate the by celebrating our grant of £10,000 from The Hospital Saturday Fund towards the delivery of our cookery classes for the next 12 months.
It was so lovely to see Paul Clare from the Hospital Saturday Fund again since we last saw each other a few years ago when they supported our Creative Crew sessions.
Paul came to visit one of our cookery classes last week at our temporary kitchen and as always he received the biggest welcome from our members who as you can see in this photo were also extremely grateful for the support from the trust.
Cookery has been our most difficult sessions due to barriers and problems with the lack of kitchen facilities but it just shows how determined we are and the impact this has on our community. We strongly believe that teaching our members important life skills for living as independent as possible is so important and can lead to greater confidence and possible employment. It’s also a highly social activity with both family and friends.
Huge thanks to Paul Jackson , Paul Clare and the team at the Hospital Saturday Fund for their continued support.
Our Cookery Assistant Naomi is doing her Food Hygiene Level 1 accredited training course with Creating Adventures through Highfield E-learning. She’s already passed modules 1, 2 and 3 with flying colours. Well done Nai. 👏 👏
Huge thanks to our lovely friends at All Saints Church in Thelwall for raising a fantastic £243 at their coffee morning when our Beautiful Noise choir performed for them on Thursday 15th August. As always our team, families and members were so welcomed and looked after by the Thelwall Ladies group with their husbands and families. What a beautiful church too! We’re so lucky to be invited to these beautiful churches and to be supported by such wonderful people. Thank you to Judy Woolvine for organising and inviting us. ❤️🙏
There’s still time to join us on our 15 mile Sandstone trail sponsored walk on Saturday 7th September. A lovely circular walk from Frodsham walking along the beautiful Sandstone Trail towards Primrose Hill then looping back to Frodsham.
Raise as much as you can towards our work with adults with autism and learning disabilities.

Stev from Pasta Ferazza and Mamars Artisan Bakery & Licensed Delicatessen have come together to give us something truly special…a pasta making workshop in Mamars.
Our super chefs can’t wait to see pasta being made and then have a little go themselves. Then Stev will make the sauce to give our members a real taste of Italy 🇮🇹.
CUSTOMER NOTICE - we’re hosting from 1pm today so all the inside tables will be full of happy eaters & you won’t be able to sit in 😫 sorry about that.
will be supporting with a mobile pasta station 😲😋 - hmmmnn where might that lead 🤔
You can still come & buy retail & sit outside. 😁

Well we may not have had a kitchen this week for our cookery class but that didn’t stop us from creating a picnic and sitting in the sun in the beautiful space made by the MacIntyre Great Communities Warrington Garden Gang.
Our Super Chefs made coleslaw, potato salad, humous, chicken or ham sandwiches and a pesto pasta salad. The perfect picnic followed by an ice cream of course!
You can’t have a picnic outside in the beautiful sunshine without an ice cream. 🍦
Our Chefs absolutely loved it. Nothing stops us from creating a bit of cookery magic! Well done to our Cookery teacher Charlie Neilens and our fab team of volunteers 💪 for making this an amazing afternoon given the circumstances. ❤️
We need the help of our community to find us a kitchen and workspace to hire for our weekly cookery classes- CAN YOU HELP PLEASE?
The Old School can no longer accommodate our Recipe for Success cookery classes for our Super Chefs. As you can imagine this is heartbreaking as they love it so much, meet with their friends and develop their skills for independence.
We therefore require a kitchen with attached workspace fit for 15 adults including carers/volunteers every Tuesday 12pm - 5pm (Group 1 - 12.20 - 2.30pm and group 2- 3pm - 5pm).
We would love a bit of storage too please, just enough to hold some equipment as you can imagine these classes use lots of ingredients and equipment, but this is preferable, not essential at this moment in time.
Please share to help our Super Chefs continue with their classes as we envision running a Community Cafe in the future....where ever that may be.
Our Creative Crew isn’t on today but look at the amazing squeegee art they did last week with Liz The Himos Hub. ❤️
It was lovely today to go and see the wonderful work our members have been involved in with Culture Warrington’s Warrington Arts Festival .
Thanks to Pete at MacIntyre in Warrington for involving us with our Over 50’s Wellbeing group creating their own ‘Warrington Landmark’ masterpieces with Karen from The Himos Hub but we’ve also been working with fabulous local artist Fran Disley to capture our members being interviewed during choir and cookery to give an insight into their lives as people of Warrington.
You can view the art work on screens in Golden Square, in the shop front of Autism CIC Charity shop in Golden Square Warrington and Fran’s work can be viewed inside the old HC Memorabilia store near to the old market square in Warrington. Well done to everyone involved!
On Tuesday our Super Chefs from group 1 and 2 had an amazing VIP afternoon at Greencore . A couple of months ago we found out that our Cookery leader Kerry was going to be off with a hip operation for 8 weeks so we set about getting organised and our first port of call was our Charity Partners at Greencore Richard Martin and his team.
On Tuesday, not just one but two of our groups spent time with Greencore and for our new chefs this was a whole new experience of meeting the wonderful team and being introduced to the factory from the viewing window and hearing all about them making 1 million meals each week for Tesco and other supermarket chains. They were treated to tasting the delicious meals and the bowls were all clean. Richard did a quiz and gave Jack time to answer using his letter board.
For the second group, it was like their second home and they made chicken curry with garlic naan bread and pilau rice with Rachel and the team. They then sat down and ate this together along with some starters! They’ve also been invited to the Greencore Summer BBQ next month. They all love the team so much and love their VIP experience days there.
Thanks so much to Richard and the team. Yet another fabulous treat for ALL of our super chefs. ❤️

How exciting was it this morning! It was all systems go and all hands to the deck as the final steps took place for table centre pieces and stage props during our Creative Crew art club! I have to say it looked stunning and that was with it all laid out on the floor and tables - it’s going to look spectacular tomorrow for The Greatest Show.
Thanks so much to Liz Jones and Jo from The Himos Hub for putting everything they have into the props and art work for this event with our Creative Crew whilst running their hugely successful Himos Hub.
They are absolutely wonderful ladies who are part of our amazing team of activity leaders.
If you’re coming tomorrow, you’re in for a real treat. ✨ ❤️ 🤩

We’re all still reeling from the event on Monday at Laskey Farm Gardens.
It was an absolutely wonderful day, after a rainy, dull morning, the sun finally came out and the crowds gathered. The cakes were flying off the counter and the drinks were being poured.
Our Bold as Brass band and Beautiful Noise choir did us proud by entertaining the crowds and for being part of this special event. ❤️ Thanks to our members and our fabulous choir teacher Jacky and her family.
We would like to offer our sincerest thanks to these wonderful ladies (Judy Woolvine, Anne-Marie Sharp and Pat) for organising the day and making a lot of the cakes and also to Wendy and Howard Platt of Laskey Farm for inviting us to be a part of their Open Gardens event and for welcoming us to what is also their home.
Not forgetting a thank you to many of our parents and supporters for also making delicious cakes to add to the day. Thank you to everyone who came to support us. ❤️
An outstanding £1337 was raised and we’re truly grateful to everyone involved. ❤️
This sums up Creating Adventures. One member gets upset and they are instantly surrounded by love and friendship.
We always encourage friendships and support but our members have this in abundance anyway. Amazing individuals who we are proud to have as part of the Ca family.
