Buying a new bike and not getting it looked at for a few years as it ‘rides alright’ doesn’t stop muck and grit getting into the frame past seals and grommets and building up in the headset, bottom bracket and wheel hubs, making it harder to ride, roll less well and noisy.

It also makes it more expensive and difficult to do.
