Fancy a lunchtime Christmas get together but don’t want a full three course meal? How about our lovely Festive Buffet.
Including all your Christmas favourites, we can either serve this in the traditional buffet style, or as sharing plates on the table. It’s completely up to you!
😍
So I’m a little behind with bake off- I haven’t watched bread week yet (that’s the problem when you work in the evenings!)
BUT I’ve just put these delicious Viennese Whirls from biscuit week on the bar! Get them before they go 😋
Lots of you know my lovely Mum - she works behind the bar on Wednesday lunchtimes.
But since she hung up her pinny for 'retirement' she's been super busy becoming a fully fledged celebrant.
I've now been to three of her ceremonies and she is absolutely BRILLIANT.
So if you know anyone in need of a celebrant look no further.
I'm sure she'd love a 'like' as well x
Home - Sunlight Celebrancy For ceremonies with heart Hello and welcome to Preview text ! Contact Me Hi! I’m Jo, the Sunlight Celebrant! The first question you may have is – what exactly IS an Independent Celebrant? Well, a Celebrant is a professional who will work with you to create a ceremony that is truly personal to yo...
Weather like this calls for Cheese, Port and a roaring fire… luckily we have all three 🧀
Yesterday we cooked one of everything from our new menu for all the staff to try.
It was great to be able to taste and talk about all things foody (possibly my favourite thing to talk about in the world)
Everybody chose their favourite dish, so are well armed with great recommendations should you have trouble choosing!
Ok so by popular demand (100% said yes in the poll in stories) my bake of challenge is back!
As I explained in stories, back when I was baking everyday I used to watch the GBBO religiously and each week I would make the technical bake to sell in the tea rooms.
These days I often bake cakes for the bar, so I thought why not do it again?
So the bake of challenge 2024 has begun - I know I may be a day late as this is cake week- but each week I’ll endeavour to make a bake from the show for our lovely customers to enjoy.
Starting off with this delicious Battenberg! Get it before it’s gone 🤗
Our new menu seems to be going down a storm!
This is the all new Spatchcock Chicken.
What would you choose?
Bit of a different post- but I’ve committed to running 5km every day in October (I may have overestimated my abilities because my first run today around our lovely park was HARD 🥵)
I’m doing it to raise money for Tommy’s, charity very close to our hearts.
We’ve got a charity tin on the bar so if you fancy popping a couple of pennies in next time you’re in it would be wonderful 😍
I promise I won’t bore you with daily updates 😂
In other news, if you’re doing SOBER OCTOBER watch this space because we’ve got you as well!

Im absolutely in love 😍 with our Autumn flower pumpkins I picked up at Warwick Market yesterday!
There are so many lovely things to be found every Saturday.
It’s just the perfect day for a walk round the park and a pub lunch ☀️☀️🍁🍂
It’s so wet outside, but it’s beautifully cosy in here!
I also need to remind you that this is the last week of our current menu. We’re welcoming a whole host of new delicious homemade meals on the 1st of October. But it does means we’re saying goodbye to some of our favourites including this Thai curry with either chicken, seabass or vegan cauliflower wings. Come and get it before it’s gone 🍛
Our lovely knight enjoyed a delicious finger buffet on Friday!
(As did the rest of the guests!)
The perfect weather for a cosy Sunday Lunch 🌧️
There’s a new kid on the block.
Not the lovely Fin but our brand new stout ‘Genesis’ from the brewers
Don’t worry we’ve still got Guinness. But why not give this one a try, you won’t be disappointed.
It gets the thumbs up from us 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Today is the first phase of our menu change!
Our lunchtime sandwiches are back for the colder weather 🥳
The full menu will be changing on the 1st of October
What a beautiful September evening 🫶🏻
Our guest Ale ‘Half the world away’ is back!
It’s safe to say it’s proving popular already 🍺
After the excitement of last nights awards we’re straight back to it today!
We’ve had the absolute pleasure of hosting some Chelsea Pensioners. They ate a delicious Ploughman’s Buffet and washed it all down with lots of Real Ale!
I hate to state the obvious but it’s September!
Kids are back to school, we’re all slowly getting back into a routine and I’m just about ready to fire our cozy wood burner up and sip a pumpkin spiced latte 🎃
But summer isn’t over yet! ☀️
Basically, this is a really long winded way of telling you that you have until the end of September to keep enjoying our summer menu (like this delicious cesar salad) before we switch over to our winter delights. We’ve got more than a few treats in store including this cheese fondue 🤤 So watch this space 👀
Happy Bank Holiday Monday!
We’re open 12-7 today (kitchen closes at 6)
And it even looks like the sun may make an appearance at some point ☀️
Have a lovely day everyone!
