WHY VISIT HENLEY-IN_ARDEN? There are many reasons to visit beautiful, historic Henley-in-Arden, known as the 'Gateway to Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon', here are just 10 for starters.....
1) Thanks to a wonderful array of well-preserved historic buildings (some dating back to medieval times) Henley’s beautiful one mile long High Street is considered by many historians to be one of the most architecturally significant roads in England.
2) An absolute must-visit for any serious foodie, Henley-in-Arden offers a fabulous array of dining options including gorgeous gastro pubs The Black Swan, The Mount (owned by Michelin starred chef Glynn Purnell), The Bluebell and an array of lovely restaurants including Chinese, Italian, Indian, Pizza & Steak, not to mention a selection of great pubs too.

4) Well worth a visit, the town’s historic railway station has undergone a fantastic transformation thanks to the hard work of the Friends of Henley Railway, a team of local volunteers whose hard work is restoring it back to its former glory.
5) The town offers some amazing accommodation options including the stunning George & Dragon and Little George luxury apartments in the High Street’s iconic Grade II listed George House (bookings available through Exclusively Warwickshire).

7) It’s no exaggeration to say that there are literally hundreds of attractions within a very short distance of Henley-in-Arden. The National Trust properties of Baddesley Clinton and Packwood House, St Peter’s Anglo Saxon Church in Wootton Wawen, Warwick and Kenilworth Castles are just a few (Check out our Places To Visit in Warwickshire pages for more inspiration )
8) Situated on Henley’s historic High Street, the town’s free to enter Henley Museum & Heritage Centre is well worth a visit. This fascinating treasure trove of antiquities includes a model of the old Market Cross and Beaudesert Castle and a replica Victorian School Room.

One of the best things about Warwickshire is that there are so many children-focussed activities and places to visit that make history engaging and fun!😊
February is a time of promise when spring buds begin to push up and give us a hint of what's to come. This excitement very much extends to those younger members of the family who are raring to get out and explore after a winter being cooped up.
Whatever their interest, you’ll find plenty of fun activities for the whole family at places across South Warwickshire this half term: http://ow.ly/Us6r50HUB5q

Lord Leycester Hospital is one of our favourite places in Warwick. Whether walking by or wandering through the medieval buildings it connects us with the rich history of the town.
The Hospital is a historic group of medieval timber-framed buildings on the High Street dating mainly from the late 14th Century. Of historic significance, they are the finest examples in Britain of medieval courtyard architecture.
In the reign of Queen Elizabeth I the buildings became, under the patronage of Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, a place of retirement for old warriors who had fought in the Elizabethan wars. These soldiers are known to this day as the Brethren and, with the Master, still live within the walls of the building.
